Lucas B. 1,459 Posted January 12, 2017 Any Joy Division fan here, besides me? They're simply amazing, it's incredible the legacy they left even though they had so little time of career (4 years only, 1976-1980). Also, Ian was a great lyricist, it's just sad that he ''walked away in silence'' 'cause depression and epilepsy were just way too hard for him to go on. He'll be missed forever, but never forgotten. I wonder what JD and him would became if he were still alive, but this, sadly, will be forever only in my thoughts. Was thinking and would be great to hear Lana cover any song of them (New Dawn Fades, Decades, The Eternal, Love Will Tear Us Apart and Atmosphere would sound really good on her voice). What you guys think of it? If you don't know them, do a favor to youself and listen to these (at least Unknown Pleasures, Closer and the two singles): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVvoQIdD80U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVVdEqBbr4k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyTtC5hmQDQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR6ufgEK8ls
longtimeman 8,919 Posted January 12, 2017 One of my favourite bands ever. When I was growing up, my sister had the two records but wouldn't let me touch them, but I heard them often enough coming from her room. I ended up getting almost all of their music on vinyl and/or CD over the years. I even like their Warsaw era, even though it's far more basic and simplistic than their proper records.
Greenwich 1,052 Posted January 12, 2017 I can really picture *possibly* a Love Will Tear Us Apart cover but other than that I don't think it would fit. Also, Unknown Pleasures will be in my music library forever

Lucas B. 1,459 Posted January 13, 2017 OH MY GOD YES!!!!!!!! Life changing band. YES, it's impossible to listen to them and continue to be the same you were before knewing them. The lyrics, the instrumentals, everything it's great and truly amazing. They weren't just a simple band, they were a true talent (especially Ian) that left an endless and eternal legacy.
SissyReed 578 Posted January 15, 2017 this is one of my fave bands ever. my dad is a big fan as well and when he was in high school and had his own bands, he used to cover "love will tear us apart" lol anyway, their music is so important for me, also ian's story is so sad and depressing, and their music makes me feel so... good but sad at the same time? idk they just have very important place in my heart
