i'm so pleasantly surprised by this one. like seriously, i was scared we'd get a boring piano ballad and it turned out to have strings and more to it than just boring piano or acoustic (which i like but i needed more than that from lana right now)

 

also i wanna know when this was lyrically written. it kind of gives "my story" and a little anger, so i wonder if it was meant for rock candy sweet at all? or maybe not. idk

This was such a pleasant surprise  I actually preferred Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd as a lead single, but considering the style, I like this one much more than some of her previous forays into country. I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but even though the arrangements are gorgeous and elevate the song, it kinda feels like they were added later over a more intimate demo vocal, and you can kind of tell.
