I just listened to Henry and all I can say is that the whole song sounds like a breath of fresh air!! I usually want my first listens to be special, so I try to find the right moment to experience them in a nice way, and I’m glad I did it now because it’s such a beautiful sunny day and it’s just perfect. 
 

I love how the song turned out to be something completely different from what everyone was expecting and it’s so sweet that most fans welcomed it in such a positive way; I feel like this era will be a pretty one, not only about the music, but also about the reception of fans and the media. Lana seems happy with her new lifestyle and I’m glad she’s sharing a bit of this feeling with us!

 

Btw have you noticed she’s smiling while singing in some parts? Especially the bridge? My heart is warm!!!

Wasn’t entirely gagged on the first few listens.. listened again and kind of settled that it was cute and lovely but no wow factor. 
 

Then I drove home in the sun with my windows down and the song on full blast.. it finally clicked. This song is as gorgeous as they come

I think Henry is far from boring. This might become one of my favourite Lana song. Also, didn’t some insider say this was like choosing Change as a single?

I’m sorry but I’m just not the biggest fan of the strings they’re obviously very nice and lush but sound a bit out of place imo (like they recorded the strings section separately from her vocals with the guitar and just added them in). However I LOVE the twangy slide guitar. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I would have actually would have really liked to hear one more similar to the version she posted that sounded more guitar focused

I do sort of agree with this - it’s sort of like thunder to me where you can tell it obviously had work done on it after the vocals and main instrumentation of the song were done, and they just laid it on top

 

But I still love the strings so it works for me

i get that maybe she wanted it to harken back to her pop past as the song talks about leaving and being left behind. but I agree. i would've loved just a guitar and a steel petal guitar

the way his work (drew or whatever his name is) has always sounded like this.. it just sounds so unintentional, random, and boring… 

 

it almost feels like he tries working up a instrumental piece not a song with vocals on top of it
