so many people on reddit have said that as well and i curiously checked the latest comments on wrecking ball music video on youtube and so many people brought out the comparisons lmao.

 

i can already imagine that guy from tiktok making a video where he sits behind his computer and pointing his finger out to those similarities

I hope more than a few songs on the record feature this lavish instrumentalisation and arrangements.

 

Because OB kinda promised that with the lead single... but the orchestra was rarely to be heard again on the record.

It's definitely grown on me a lot since listening to it on repeat a lot since yesterday

I still can't understand like half the lyrics though.. then I look them up and completely forget what they are when I'm listening to it later

the strings near the end in particular are gorgeous

I just listened to it with headphones for the first time and wow.  I can’t get over how beautiful this is. Very melodic but country, also love the harps, strings and just everything about the instrumentals. Glad this single wasn’t super stripped down. I can deff see the vibe of the album after hearing this and it makes me soo excited!!

It’s the lead, but Lana seldom cares about singles these days. She hasn’t even posted about the release on insta…she’s in another world. Be lucky to even get a music video this era.

It feels like she's at that point in her career where she's making music for herself (and herself only).

 

And that sounds like such a great place to be in as a musician. No trend chasing, no getting addicted to awards, not being bothered about sales, Billboard and other numbers. She has a vision, she makes it a reality, and that's her legacy. Fuck everything else. Including, yes, posting on Instagram.

 

At this stage of her career, her manager and label should deal with that promo shit. She should just focus on the music,  not even think about it, and just enjoy her meal at Denny's.

The chord progression. From "Last call, hey y'all" onwards during the verse. Quite similar to Taylor Swift's "Trouble" as well.

Yes! The nostalgia for me isn’t necessarily like oh, it reminds me of her old music (though it does), it just really *sounds* like you’re fondly reminiscing. Which reminds me, in high school we had some group assignment in a high school class to assign songs to feelings, and one feeling was “nostalgia” and I was instantly like “I’m thinking Lana” and the whole group was like yeah me too, lol.
