I think the album just kept getting pushed back over and over again and now she’s kinda in a rush because she wanted these two songs out before she plays them at Stagecoach, but I do have a feeling there will be more than 13 songs!

I watched her appeal and I am very glad to see her so open to what is happening now. It's inspiring. It's nice to see her happy and with fire in her eyes. She's the best no matter what, trully the best!!

Just saw her IG video, and I fucking screamed. Could she be more adorable?!

Also, another song dropping soon, with the cutest title, and it sounds country!  I don't know why, but I'm imagining something like Beyonce's BlackBird, which I loved. So many thoughts:

 

1.  She's so sweet and charming, I just want to hug her.

2. YES to the Drew shoutout. The man DELIVERED.

3. YES to the album name change. Loathed person. 

4. The self-awareness on "You know the album isn't coming in May, right? LOVE IT.

5. Take as long as you need, Lana, baby. We'll wait a year if we need to.

6. Did she take down the video?! I can't find it now.

7. YES to the Luke shoutout. The man also DELIVERED.

8. She's been working on Henry for so long! That explains a lot. But I'm glad she did. One of her best.

9. Ugh, cannot wait for Bluebird

10. So, I guess the album isn't sent for pressing? It'll probably be another 4-5 months and we're looking at at a September/October release. Autumn vibes.

11. I love that she wants to show us the more stripped version of Henry, too. Been dying to hear that.

I hope the album title is more punchy like Born to Die, UV and NFR, rather than Chemtrails or Ocean Boulevard.

 

Perhaps something like:

 

1. Rodeo

2. Tequila Skies

3. Rodeo Queen

4. Ride or Die

5. Lasso (yes, just sneaking that in in case Lana is reading so she would consider it again lmao.

Similar to Henry (Luke writing/producing, and Drew strings). Maybe it'll be a bit more upbeat?

 

Because Henry was a straight-up ballad. 

 

I'm hoping for something like Beyonce's Blackbird. Vocals on top of vocals, beautiful melodies, and a great country vibe.

The thing that’s shocked me the most about this era so far is the near unanimous praise that Henry has been receiving. It’s a pretty slow, simple song with not a lot of drums, darkness, or anything that the usual suspects tend to wish she would do again. It’s an amazing song, and I love it. But I really love how everyone’s come together to share how much they love this little country ballad. (It is country, I don’t care).

If she's just delaying to perfect it, find the best title, the best album cover, etc, I'm all for it! I trust her. The one time she rushed a release ( Blue Banisters), it was messy asf, production wise. Even if you love the songs themselves, you can't deny that. Some of them literal were literal YouTube to mp3 rips. If we get two songs now, she can release it late summer/September for all I care.

I’m mostly shocked that although our hype was way through the roof with Henry, for the last 14 months, it not only met our expectations but surpassed them. Candy Necklace and even Tulsa Jesus Freak we’rent met with that much enthusiasm upon release, especially CN.

It's because we thought that it was going to be an acoustic guitar ballad song and many people lowered their expectations because BOZ and Pantene said it's boring and May Jailer with a budget. We were surprised to hear that it has more than just a guitar. And it's also affected a bit by recency bias because the last time we got an unheard solo original song by Lana was when the Ocean Blvd album dropped (not counting collaborations, covers and unreleased songs) - it was two years ago. 

 

The thing with Tulsa Jesus Freak and Candy Necklace is that they weren't singles before the album release, they were released with other 10 songs when their respective albums were released.

I wonder if it's just retitled or if the tracklist also changed cause changing the cover and vinyl sleeves wouldn't delay it that much but if they have to repress them... we're far (depending on when she decided to change it).

 

I don't think they'd let her send albums to production unless it's 100% the final product with how much she changes her mind so maybe she was supposed to submit it around the time she announced it in November but she changed her mind right before the deadline and the final album already started production a couple of months ago...

In that case we may have any a late summer release
