  1. For the moment everything takes a back seat to this. Joan Baez? WOW JUST WOW. I feel lucky to have seen Adam and Sean but this is quite amazing. Thank you Joan for agreeing to this. Lana on the other hand. Please full sets, 90 minutes minimum. Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse! Say goodbye at the end of the show. Wave to everyone there, front back side. Stand there and let your fans love you. It's part of the deal.
  2. Woke up to see some nice clips of Lana but dismayed at the screaming people trying to sing along. I oppose violence to my fellow humans but a yellow pages to the head is justified occasionally.
  3. I love this song! It does seem like 2 songs morphed into one but that's fine. I LOVE the whole "I said don’t be a jerk” section.
  4. What does Byron have to do with any of this?? It's not like he was on an hour talk show having some in depth discussion about Lana's motives for things. Someone texts him questions about the set list and he responds. Why put him on the chopping block? On another note here is one happy fan! I know some of you will be upset that Lana is still going to coffee shops. How many lattes can we take Lana? https://www.vancouverisawesome.com/2019/10/01/lana-del-rey-superfan-vancouver-cafe-matcha-latte/
  5. I don't know when you should show up but it looks like it will be a long day. General admission and I can't tell from the website if it is all open floor or some seating on the outside. Smaller venue I think but still the battle will be on to get close to Lana. Good luck and enjoy!
  6. How's this? It's all I got. https://twitter.com/Bob_Turn/status/1178097830508072966
  7. Elle thanks for posting the beautiful photos. I had seen some today and felt bad about my dress comments. I will apologize to Lana in my next video.
  8. I have not read this whole thread so I may be way behind on this. I got my download from ITunes first and then went and bought the CD. In the car I noticed at the end of the last song Hope is, well you know, there was silence and then talking. Something about if this didn't exist or if I woke up and the song or you didn't exist. Sounded like someone on the phone. Was that a studio snippet of Jack Antonoff or something? It's not on the download only the CD. I may be late to the party. Speaking of Cd's I got 2 emails for free Cd's for my tickets but haven't seen anything yet. Anyone get theirs?
  9. Never mind the video came up different earlier. I can't delete last post.
  10. Here is my Jones Beach video. I said pretty much what I posted here. I am tired so a bit of a rush job.
  11. Nice from Rolling Stone. Mentions a curfew so maybe they had to finish by a certain time. Could've started on time but that would not work in Lana world. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-live-reviews/lana-del-rey-norman-rockwell-tour-opener-888208/
  12. Someone mentioned Pretty When You Cry. I forgot to mention that was a highlight for me. At the end of the song she's wailing, "I'm pretty when I cry" and they had a great closeup of her face and she was workin it. The Academy Award goes to:
  13. I'm awake. I had a dream last night I couldn't find my car. Probably because I couldn't last night! Random thoughts on the show. Beautiful evening and uneventful getting to my seat. I spoke a bit with people near me but did not mention my YouTube channel at all. Didn't want to weird anyone out. Overall Lana's voice was great. This thing with the backing track had me wonder sometimes as I would hear hear voice but the mike was at her side. Hmmm. She definitely was singing though. I love Blake but the way the mix was sometimes the guitar would would overshadow or dominate and not compliment her voice. Not his fault just part of playing a large venue I guess. Seeing Adam Cohen and Sean was great but Lana kind of dropped the ball with Adam. Not everyone there knew who he was or that she sang a duet with him. His entrance was a bit lackluster and I think an introduction where he is not on stage and then Lana said ladies and gentlemen please a warm welcome for Adam Cohen as he came out would have been better. He kind of came out and was standing there while she was introducing him and he did not get the reception he deserved. Great performance though. Sean got more response but people know him for who he is and of course Tomorrow Never Came. I was happy she did Bartender and NFR, a standout of Lana's entire catalog. I wanted HIAB and surprised she did not do Brooklyn Baby as she has done that so well in concert and a personal favorite of mine. I know nothing about fashion but Lana always looks good and has a different outfit for each show. This choice I thought was odd. Instantly I was like, Whaat? It looked like something someone would wear to hide something about their body, weight or pregnancy. Not making a value judgement about weight or pregnancy I seemed to notice the dress when normally I wouldn't. (I wear the some golf type shirts for 365 days a year so I shouldn't comment on fashion.) The whole pit thing can end as far as I am concerned. The pit area that is sectioned off is about 3 or 4 times as large than the people who are pressed to the front. Some concerts people probably spread out and dance and aren't all pressed forward. Why I care is that space pushes back where the first rows of seats are. I had a good seat but was still further back than I wanted. I appreciate the fans that wait and want to be close to Lana but at this point it is almost a joke. Twice Lana went through the front almost by obligation and not long she was back on stage. The backup "singer/dancers" I could lose too. I am sure they are nice people and am happy they got this once in a lifetime gig. But are they dancing? Are they singing? I think they are there to keep Lana comfortable. Whatever. As far as the set list people should calm down a bit. Yes it is a bit lazy. She could do some album songs that she hasn't. Born to Die stuff will always be in. That was her nemesis that became her golden child. It is the one that the largest audience is familiar with. She did songs from the new album. I know people complain not enough though. It is common that when a major act plays the worst thing a fan can hear is, "Now we're going to do something off our new album". I know her fan base has NFR but she probably didn't want to overdo it, Remember all 15,000 people there are not Lanaboards members. Doin' Time probably got the biggest immediate response because most people have heard it. That was a real missed opportunity. While she was doing that I was waiting at some point for Giant Lana to appear on the screens. If she had used part of the video the crowd would have gone bullshit. I mean we were at the beach for God's sake. Overall had a great time. I hope other members get that she is not some obscure, alt artist that has her little community of fans. She is big business and music product. She is creative and talented but fame has many sides. So to play these large venues around the world there is a certain common denominator she has to reach out to. YES the set list should be updated, mixed up. YES she should know the lyrics to her songs. I'll drive home soon and decompress. I'll make a video.
  14. Sitting in the parking lot now. Be a while before I can move my car. Had a great time. Some outstanding moments and vocals. Adam Cohen and Sean Lennon, wow. I'm not qualified to comment but the dress was not the best choice. I'll post more tomorrow and make a video too.
  15. Yes I have a good SEAT! Center section orchestra, 2nd row. There's the pit then what looks like a few rows of box seats and then the orchestra sections. I too had the good fortune to see Lana kind of early on. I saw her at the El Rey in L.A. and that was standing and that was tolerable. I saw her again at the House of Blues in Boston and that was hell. Waiting all day outside on line and then standing for the opening act and then her. No bathroom break, young women fainting from the crowd and being dehydrated. And the madness of the crowd trying to get close to her.(I was part of that crowd) I have seen her 3 times since then and always get a reserved seat. Thank you for thinking of my welfare though.
  16. This is kind of on topic. This was on my drive down. https://twitter.com/Bob_Turn/status/1175090162453352448?s=19
  17. My first ticket sold so it is no longer available. I took a total $5 loss on that ticket. The good news is I got a second email for another CD and I get to keep the hard copy ticket I got in the mail. I guess they send to the purchasers phone with updated bar code. My second ticket was sent that way. Now I have ITunes and CD I already bought and then 2 CD's coming in the mail. I will drive to L.I. tomorrow and stay with my friend. Saturday is supposed to be beautiful! This will be my 6th time seeing Lana!! I love seeing her so much. Not just to hear her sing but for the experience of being there with her fans who love her so much. I love when she comes out and fans go crazy. I love the love!! I never made an actual NFR review video but I will be home Sunday and plan to make another video about the concert. I get a little self conscious seeing her as I am older and and don't like to make people around me feel uncomfortable. ("Who's the creepy old guy screaming for Lana?") Ha ha. I know there will be a wide spread of people there as I have been through this before. Just my nature to be self conscious that's all.
  18. I'm sure she would love to go!! Anyway I have put it up for resale but if someone is interested let me know.
  19. Remain calm. I had a single seat for Jones Beach which I got the first day they went on sale. I just checked Ticketmaster and there was a single available in the center section for a good price so I bought that. If someone wants to buy my other seat let me know. $133, my cost. Orchestra H Row GG seat 14. GOOD SEAT. I may give it a day and if no one wants here I will try resale on TM or another site. You won't be sitting next to me.
  20. HIAB is one of my favorites. Not sure if this is the right thread but check these out. When God was handing out talent I must have overslept. Imagine having a voice like either of these? The second one also does Bartender.
  21. Good article. It's true a whole group of people who have never heard of Norman Rockwell will now seek out who he was and get exposed to his art. Nice attitude by the museum. I wish the bozo Sublime fans who post, "I hope you all realize this is a cover" or some other nonsense would get that now there are a lot of people discovering Sublime that never would have before.
