Every record since LFL has been sounding like a transitional record to some of you guys… what are we transitioning to?? We’re at the destination!- 653 replies

She’s become a washed out red scare trad fash mess without an interesting project to distract from it. Just wallowing in internet basements reeking of vocal fry and doritos

There is such catharsis in having VB at the end of the record. Like slipping into an end credits layer of reality, a mindless haze after the hero’s arc of the rest of the album. It feels like an altered state, which the album plays with a lot - at the end of A&W and peppers with the sort of drugged up transitions, Candy necklaces as the bad trip, both interludes. And that notion of the altered state hits harder when you consider the last words spoken in the transition from Taco Truck to VB are Lana trying and failing to recount a dream… and then she just gives way to it. It’s either an ultimate escape or something more sinister (the same way the second half of A&W could be)

Omg i used to love her back in 2013… hope she’s defeated the label issues (?) she had and can get a sophomore album released

The track list is not ugly, some of you just want to sanitise it because you can’t accept its corny, unbalanced nature… and I wanna say that’s ok, but it’s not, it’s mostly kind of boring. You want tidy, pretty Taylor swift titles in a sprawling fuckless Lana album naming a song after its most repeated lyric or most prominent theme is not the only way to name a song!

Sevdaliza did the whole semi-eerie impassioned pastor interlude thing on Ison and it just made the whole album feel bloated around the middle. If Lana’s interlude can deliver with an undertone of irony, it could work, but otherwise… edit: Sermon from 4:15 onwards. Does not elevate an otherwise moody tender song

I think even in a visual sense, this album is likely a middle ground between TR and the third album of this trilogy. If TR is blue and the third album is red, then it makes sense that the visuals of this album seem to be sort of deep purple-ish perhaps also, if TR is water then the third album will be land, and this album is inhabiting a rainy limbo idk I’m really excited for this! The alienation record I’ve been dying for
