  3. My heart almost popped out of my chest when I heard the news. In my opinion he was not really glorifying the use of drugs, rather he was writing about something that was very normal for him. He didn't use drugs to feel cooler or simply to fit into a genre that is very famous for glorifying them... He used them because he really 'needed' them. When you have depression it is really difficult to ask for help despite knowing that you need it. His songs were a call for help and yet nobody noticed, mainly because we put all these stars and artists on pedestals very far from the place where we place ourselves. We deprive them of any human need. We have mental health so underestimated and drugs so normalized that situations like this will remain common.
  4. Everything is too expensive ...
  5. Her hair and makeup remind me a lot of the session with Jork Weismann in 2015. And could you please stop complaining about the model of the video? It is completely unnecessary. It's not like she's worried about having the most beautiful person as her love interest.... Or did you forget about the 'Ride' music video?
  6. I keep forgetting that Lana will release a new music video soon...
  7. Chances are she's coming to Mexico ... so I'm very excited!
  8. I think Lana and Johnny Blue Eyes had an argument. The outfits have been horrendous lately ...
  9. 'Lust For Life' is undoubtedly Lana's most diverse and yet cohesive work so far. (And yes, 'White Mustang' is the worst song of the whole album ... The good part is that it's also the shortest)
  10. The Independent (UK) ★★★★ ‘Lust For Life’ is more of an elaboration on her favourite subjects rather than a repetition, in fact, it’s her most expansive album to date. The New York Times — Positive (Metacritic Score: 80) ‘Lust For Life’ is her most expansive album; it has 16 songs, stretching nearly 72 minutes. It also, in rare moments, hints at a wink behind Ms. Del Rey’s somber lullabies. The Guardian ★★★★ She is consistent in her aesthetic, adding zeitgeisty elements to her sound without being dictated by them. And for that reason she exists in a lonesome, luxurious league of her own. The Telegraph (UK) ★★★★ ‘Lust For Life’ lets a bit of light into the darkness of Del Rey’s moody past works, hinting at emotional recovery without drastically altering her sensuous musical palette. DIY Magazine ★★★★ Her most honest album yet, ‘Lust For Life’ also stands up as Lana Del Rey’s best to date. GQ Magazine (UK) ‘Lust For Life’ is an accomplished piece of art, an antidote to the banal tunes permeating the charts and one of the best albums released this year so far. Sputnik Music ★★★★ The album, like Lana Del Rey, has earned the right not to be overlooked. Highsnobiety ★★★★ Part love story and part political parable, it’s her most complex, linear and ambitious record to date; one that demands to be listened to from swaying start to folky finish. Northern Transmissions — 8.5 While the album takes a few tracks to hit its stride, the majority of the record more than makes up for its slow start. Evening Standard (London) ★★★ It’s just about enough to keep her interesting, despite the unchanging funeral march pacing.
