In the zone is her best album, Glory is awful and I will never understand the love for that album. 1. In the zone 2. Blackout 3. Circus the Britney album has some great tracks but was ruined by making Brit have it as a film soundtrack. It’s not surprising, tik tok has really helped her streams.Her unreleased and released go viral there daily. she must be one of the top 5 singers on there and more people are rediscovering her like her BTD peak. Inevitably-she was always going to have a big appeal in the longer run-her discography is timeless and she puts so much material out with a devoted fanbase and mystique. Also her controversies got her name out a bit again

There’s evidence to suggest otherwise, I’m not doubting lorde was genuine in her music etc but she was never lower class-people living near her have said the family was relatively wealthy and had an expensive house. all marketing. there were many comparisons made between Lana and lorde again if your record label is saying this-it’s for promotion tactics. Despite this she used to re blog Lana on tumblr quite a bit pre debut so she clearly was a fan.

Lorde was developed as an anti-lana which is why royals was pushed as the lead single- the record label head and lorde went out of their way to compare music constantly. She wasn’t as completely organic as you think

Don’t forget isn’t a bad song at all-it’s just typical sky fair but she overproduces if she has too much time but then on the flipside you have ntmt-great album but definitely a raw album with little polish. we would eat don’t forget up if she was a new artist. unholy is messy to me subjectively, I hate the vocal layering which was sloppily done-you can’t cover a bad vocal take with layering.

I actually do think she has a lovely voice naturally- see: This is what annoys me, if she took vocal lessons-she’d have a beautiful tone, realistically the auto tune is not going to age well. At this point who knows if there’s been extensive damage because she’s constantly losing her voice.

Not necessarily unpopular I think? But I had no idea Janet Jackson until two years had any impact or even a music career besides that’s the way love goes or scream with Micheal. She’s had no cultural impact in the UK and is completely forgotten- I never heard any of her music besides those two songs growing up. I looked and she has quite a few legacy hits here so it was surprising none of her music played here like Madonna or Mariah etc. I also think her music is quite overrated-there are some great cuts but you can’t hear her vocals half the time and that just breaks most of her songs. honey,hero, without you and heartbreaker were played constantly on music stations over here growing up.

I think people are entitled to their opinions but the political discussion over her music is too much at times- some of you are analysing these songs far too much to enjoy them. the average listener is not equating marinas political views or networth to PtP
