Even without speaking to any insiders, it's obvious that her label don't hate her. Post-sucker, they never forced her to release anything she didn't want to. Yes, she had to record Issues, Our Boyfriend etc when she didn't want to, but they never forced her to release any of the tracks. She hated Boys but chose to release it for the video she envisioned. Equally, they funded her studio time for stuff like Afterparty, Girls Night Out, Taxi etc. Notice how nobody is complaining about that. Atlantic aren't as evil as some of you portray them to be.

Agree that Atlantic are providing a big amount of freedom for an artist that doesn't make big money aside from her cult fanbase, but to act like charli wanted to release boys is hilarious she was given a list of songs and she picked the one she hated the least for commercial success because Atlantic wanted a pay off after funding her more experimental ventures and it still didn't work.Remember this is the woman who said her songwriting meant everything to her and that she'd be nothing without it.

I feel like LFL has ruined the early excitement during the album pre releases. Before LFL i was so excited for what was to come, like beyond excited. I suppose because it followed Honeymoon which was such an obscure aesthetically pleasing record so it just engraved this amazing impression on me.

Whereas this time i'm not as excited before NFR. I know it'll be great but, i'm more worried if anything. I think what excited me most about Lana was her persona. Attached to the music she made it was a masterpiece. But now she's kind of plain you know? The basic locals outfits and political obsession, you wouldn't tell her apart from a crowd anymore and i think that's what annoyed me the most, she blends in too much and isn't as mysterious

I agree in some ways but disagree in others I think there is certainly a lack of motivation behind her newer material for me personally,as the records don't speak to me and lack strong underlying themes to me.Also I think I'm one of the only people that actually liked a lot of the political material on lfl(its subjectively her worst record to me) as I could sense her passion in the topics atleast along with the title track love whereas I could not in a lot of the material that was trying to cling onto past glories e.g.tnc,beautiful people,groupie love,13 beaches as they felt very inauthentic to how she was at that time.About the appearance thing I don't like the image shes going for lately but it's her decision and if she's happy that's all that matters but I just wish I liked the material I found mac okay but that's it and I haven't listened to Venice bitch since it debuted.

Nnn I'm not really digging the new sound anyway so I doubt collabs would be detrimental for me its odd because it's happy but slow and that doesn't really work for me and when I say it needs to be more uptempo I don't mean "pop" there are tons of rock and experimental records that are mid tempo it's just at a conflict because she's trying to make happier music but the tone of her voice and the tempo has had the life stripped out of it and that only really works for sad records so I'm hoping they'll be different paces throughout the album.

her writing quality has really decreased over the years, she believes that putting a swear word within a song makes it dramatic and engages the listener like it should be used correctly not just to seem out of place like in Venice bitch,heroin and cherry although I'm sure the poems will be good I'm not expecting anything outstanding maybe during born to die or uv but now nope.

I will say this it sounds like one of the good songs from her last album but the way she was hyping up her lyricism wasnt reflected within this song.It's a good song but this isn't a comeback song and the instruments sound kinda fake which was a common complaint of her last album, it all sounds very synthetic but let's just see what's to come!

Hmm, it's a good song for a TV show perhaps, like an emotional part of The Vampire Diaries or some other drama show trailer, but I won't be fussed to never hear it again oops

Listening to the lyrics, I imagine Avril writing that song thinking she's a genius for making up all the rhymes when it actually just sounds like a 14 year old's tumblr poem.

And I know she's been through so much, and her struggles were definitely real, but more and more im convinced Avril is just so basic now. I really hope there's more depth to the rest of the album, cause I'm already over the terrible storm photoshops and the water aesthetic.

I am looking forward to the music video though, cause she is more beautiful than ever.

Mac definitely wasnt lead single material I agree she should of chosen something else, but it works as the perfect intro to an album and that's why I'm excited because it had sounds I was intrigued by but it seemed like her testing this sound out if you get what I mean.

That would be a great artist for this song. (I like him though).

MAC will be/is supposed to be on the album. That is unless Lana gets a wild hair up her ass and pulls a LFL situation and changes everything at the last minute.

That said I don’t see that happening because she is so proud and self assured of the work she’s done for this record. There shouldn’t be any doubt whether or not these songs are for the album!

I was thinking, with the visuals in the video being quite basic that maybe this isn’t the official video; lust for life got uploaded to YouTube with a basic video at first and then the actual music video came later - just thinking there must be more to it especially if chuck called it a series.
