What she’s saying she wants from the album isn’t coming across so far- there’s a random ocean theme but she wants Brit pop inspired songs, rave moments and psychedelia inspired production. she also counted massive Attack and Primal Scream as a major influence. where is this reflected in any of the imagery or songs so far? I just can’t imagine that she’s got what she wanted from her songs.

Because the music is still FN p2 and the world has moved on from disco and 90s house inflected dance pop unless you’re Ariana grande- she’s added some bass guitar from tame impala songs and called it a day to classify as “psychedelic” when it’s nothing of the sort. her image is also very safe and boring- none of the era links together thematically or sonically and she or management have no idea what they want from her as a popstar so I’ll be surprised if she’s a major popstar in 2 years. Add to that- mutiple film gigs being booked which seem to try to gauge her as a celebrity name but it’s not working and it’s clearly her trying to pivot for other options in case the one career doesn’t work out

She’s been going viral over her Beyoncé comments, tbh it kinda pisses me off that you can’t say anything about her without being labelled a “racist”- I listened to cowboy carter and found it bland with some nice harmonious vocal layers. Lily definitely was right that some of the album campaign felt unnecessary and too calculated e.g. the overly blonde hair and the cowboy outfits- it feels more like her image is country than the music itself

Also loving that her vocals are really layered in these tracks which is something she hasn’t done in years- like there’s dozens of layers in club classics and this is why the auto tune used to p*ss me off because she stopped layering- weirdly she’s now layering with the tuned layers and it works great

Im shocked at the online responses to these songs tbh but also not because I love both b2b and club classics and my opinions are generally divisive - like some are saying the album is ruined for them which is interesting. honestly excited for brat now.
