am i the only one who now wants lipstick the color of her aereola's now. like it'd be kinda weird but i'd wanna say i have one. there's a cherry blossom joke in here somewhere aha :blanche:

that’s an actual thing in makeup for people who struggle with understanding undertones and stuff if you want to find the perfect nude lip color for your skin tone you’re supposed to match it to your areolas :toofunny:

n e ways, the heart face LDR design is :defeated: so camp i NEED it but I can’t afford it rn :deadbanana: yall pls pray for me that everyone agrees it’s ugly so they have to liquidate the stock cuz no one is buying it so that I can finally buy it. Thank you ❤️

  2. Edit: omg I just realized I sound so negative on this thread, that’s not what I meant :defeated: I think it’s super cool that they’re working with you like this, and I hope they continue to do so!! I guess it’s just a little confusing to read “exclusive” “reached out to lanaboards” thinking it would be something we could all participate in but that’s my own fault for poor reading comprehension and getting ahead of myself :toofunny:  N e ways those of u that are going better take tons of pics. I want to see how it’s decorated

  3. Also, I don’t read music reviews at all really so idk if this is normal but… what is with the excessive descriptors? It’s really annoying me, somehow they list three adjectives in a row and yet manage to say nothing.. And no one seems to really digest and philosophize the content of her songs and the album as a whole, they just list some instruments and quote a random lyric, and any connections they make are surface level… I thot y’all had to go to school to get this job right??

  4. I’m sorry :bebe:

    Spoiler

Something about the review that bothered me was starting off with this bit about Norman “her masterpiece and her mission statement. […] Norman Fucking Rockwell! gave Lana the critical acclaim she’d been denied for nearly a decade. She earned Grammy nominations, glowing reviews. People took her seriously, now. They got her, or at least they were willing to try.“ then quoting Beautiful lyrics saying “she assures us that she can turn heartbreak into art […] she tells us what we already know, it sounds suspiciously like playing it safe”. Then they say the record kind of falls of towards the end (presumably the outtakes with the “LDR cliches” ppl love to hate), but the solution they so graciously came up with for her would be to just cherry pick songs from BB and Chemtrails into an album together that might resemble her obviously undisputed best album, Norman. And then they say “that’s the downside of having such a titanic, triumphant record [NFR] in her catalog — every album that comes after will claw at comparisons to Lana’s best work. In that context, Blue Banisters may well be a disappointment[.]” it just seems like they came so close to self awareness and realization… but again, not quite…

I really don’t understand the problem people have with “earlier Lana” and songs like LL and NotG. Are they not still an integral part of her?? Do they not express valid emotions and sentiments? Idk, I have been a fan of her for a long time and I’ve been able to observe in real time how people treat her, how it changes depending on what she’s doing. Like with LFL and NFR things completely changed, and some fans had issues with it because they seemed “less Lana” and “more generic”, and I would argue that critics loved it also because they were “less Lana”. Obviously these records are still an important part of her as well and I don’t mean to sound like I’m saying that they’re not “really her” because of course they are, but idk it’s just hard to articulate, I’m sorry this doesn’t make sense. Hopefully someone else can quote this and put it better than me lol

Some of the songs sound like demos. The sound quality is not up to her level and the actual sound fluctuates from song to song. Doesn't sound mastered.I thought she'd at least rerecord songs like Thunder, Living Legend, etc. She used the same exact songs from years ago, no changes.

I think that was the point, being that this record is to “tell her story” or whatever she said. she left them the way they were when they were written and recorded, on purpose, because that’s the mindset she was in then… why change it?
