  1. Someone showed me this recently, it’s a singer from 2010 named Florrie (who has since changed up her style; her new music has around 1m – 4m views on YT. Her old music has 300,000 views now which was probably more like 20,000 – 40,000 in 2010, making her a complete unknown back then). 6 years ago she put out her first EP and this was the cover art for it (+ pics of Lana for comparison) https://i.imgur.com/5qATNbx.jpg The person who showed me said it reminds him of Lana; I also saw this comment on a few of Florrie’s old uploads. Personally I prefer BTD album cover, and for the most part I think Lana is utterly original, but I guess the pictures maybe do look kind of similar…? Idk I just thought it was interesting. What do you guys think?
  2. Unpopular opinion: As much as I love BTD/UV/HM, I still think Sirens is her most authentic work, as in she literally just sat up in her bedroom working on it for a year and then recorded it. I love the 2005 - 2010 era the most; like the Keds commercial she did. living in the trailer park w/ the fish-tanks and party decorations. She had this hazy-dreamy-mystic-strange thing going on back then that I feel had to die a little for LDR to be able to live. Her nostalgia these days feels more polished and commercialized whereas in the past it seemed natural. Then again, maybe Lizzy Grant wouldn't seem so nostalgic if LDR had never been created. It's looking at the two women side by side that creates the contrast.
  3. It was either Aviation or Serial Killer. I liked Video Games when it first came out but then when I heard Blue Jeans/Born to Die in early 12' I hated them, which is weird because I love them now. I stopped being interested in her after that until early 13' when I found Aviation and Serial Killer. Again stopped being interested in her until later that year when I finally listened to the rest of BTD and all her unreleased stuff like Mermaid Motel, Angels Forever etc and became a fan. Other than Sirens I think BTD is her best work so I have no idea why I hated it so much in the beginning.
