I think if Lana resists the temptation to defend herself for now and the majority of her fans will stand their ground and look at it relatively rationally (which I think most in her fanbase are capable of) she’ll be ok. It’s important now for her to understand it’s not the right time to defend yourself as heated as everything is right now and also because a lot of the digs against her are unfair trolls only waiting for her to snap till they get tired of it and find someone new. Sadly those who want to be mean to her will most likely never let that go again but that will not sabotage her for life. her fast album cycles are something I always appreciated because imo works that are years in the making often lose their focus. i love it when an artists has ambitious intentions but quite often works that were created in a shorter time span feel more substantial to me. also it avoids that whole high expectations dynamic on both sides, fans and artists. there are of course (many) exceptions

the problem has shifted from her initial statement (which i almost completely agreed with) to her reaction and way of handling this, which is very common nowadays. it‘s important to realize this because with these responses the reader kind of loses room for interpretation and the benefit of the doubt. it‘s so tricky because we know the kind of person she is and the initial criticism was definitely unfair and too harsh, especially the tone in which people expressed it which obviously made her react. but now she‘s in this feedback loop where people accused her of being offensive so she‘s starting to actually respond in an offensive way. don‘t get me wrong, i do not want her to be demure now. stand up for yourself. but be relfective and show willingness to listen (which is different from agreeing), which admittedly is hard when so many people critiquing her are downright nasty. i wish she would aknowledge it without being offensively defensive. i‘m not saying this solely bc of pr. i‘ve had my fair share of impulsive social media posts in the past and seldom has good come out of it. it‘s not the only way to authentically express your feelings. one does not have to take the high road, the middle road would be enough. just don‘t stoop low. i love her and understand her and i have faith she‘ll find a reasonable way to solve this one day, i hope it‘s sooner than later cause career wise she‘s absolutely playing with fire here and i hope she realises this
