LDRX - Thoughts & Speculations Thread
MrFameKills replied to shadesofloveduthenandnow's topic in Lana Thoughts
I think it was @Venice Peach who mentioned it first, but yes lets be WAFTT truthers -
Btw why were reddit stans bitching about the Judah interlude and cancelling their vinyl orders when its the first track on Side B and they'd have to flip the vinyl anyways after A&W so it's no extra hassle to skip just randomly came to mind Anyways, i have not stopped listening to and enjoying the record. Fishtail still the weakest for me ngl Kintsugi, Grandfather and LTLI current obsessions

"Sometimes bad things happen to good people and sometimes angels touch pure evil" - Melancholia "May i never go where angels fear to tread" - Never To Heaven "If you’re teetering on the edge of doing something that’s against your value system, it’s like, be careful of where angels fear to tread, they might not be able to reach you." - Rolling Stones UK, 2023 WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD, the 10th studio album out soon

Just had a violent flashback from when the Fingertips and Ocean Boulevard snippets had leaked and someone was selling the tracks. And there was a theory that the tunnel Lana was singing about was a tunnel under Trump Tower or sth and that it would be a political song lmao Now its one of the greatest title tracks of all time

Have to bump this thread, because for some reason i can't get Do It Like A Dude out of my head lol And i'll do a dive into her singles again, kinda miss the early 2010s ahhh Wiki says she scrapped whatever album she was recording and started over

Yeah, i think narratively it ties to A&W. He's preaching about people who fall into their temptations and do not appreciate what they have. So maybe it begs the question why should she be labeled the American Whore, when she's not the one commiting adultery. Maybe there's an element of self punishment too, rememeber when she burned that "be a slut" New Years resolution? I think it's very complicated and dense and maybe it's very conflicting in her own head too. Then it goes into talking about God being the creator and basking in his glory and the glory of what he has created. And i think the closing line is very interesing too. Idk, i'm not religious but i do find this kind of maniacal babble very intriguing
