'Why do I think too much?' could also entail about her own self doubt, not just about not thinking for herself or whatever you were trying to insinuate.

For me, this song represents the feelings of a new love, and how it can bring happiness+ hope for good things to come

It reminds me of summer time when I was just getting to know my boyfriend, and he would always drive and I controlled the radio 8)

Like @@Rafael, I like the way she uses different intonations for various lyrics, like in "How'd you get so hot?" to make it sound more flirtatious/loving

My favorite line is "You tell me not to worry because you're the boss" I like the way its repeated in the video.. the "heavier than heavenly" line doesn't resonate with me as much as it used to, now that I know where that saying comes from ;p

Also, I feel like this is one of her more innocent songs. Typically- even in her nicest love songs- there is a twisted element to it. I.e. "Never Let Me Go"- I can be your Nancy, you can be my Sid, "I Don't Wanna Go" - "Loving you isn't right" "It's original sin"  In "On Our Way", however, even though she's telling the guy that he's the boss, there doesn't seem to be any signs of an unstable relationship. She's saying WE're on our way ~as in they're going together~ instead of pleading for the guy to stay with her (or leave with her- i.e. Teenage Wasteland/ Lucky Ones, etc)/ lamenting the fact that her man has left her, which I think are common themes in LDR songs. (BUT this song also makes me think of EMGHW~ EMGHW being OOW's darker sibling song.. like the road trip that started in On Our Way turned bad)

i definitely thought of never let me go when i listened to this song but this one does seem happier. i feel like this song is about a more stable relationship where they're having fun and it's light and happy whereas nlmg deals with a less stable relationship where she needs confirmation that he'll stay with her. oow seems more like they were in a rougher place before but now they're good and happy, compared to nlmg where she's worried things could be going downhill. but i love the instrumental of both songs a lot

Seeing her live in May and getting a bit of interaction with her. I travelled all the way up to the best part of the other end of England, so worth it though.
Seeing The Great Gatsby and literally whispering loudly in the cinema at Y&B 'it's Lana!!!'
    Daytona Meth leaking
    Ultraviolence announcement
Staying up all night for Tropico
The BRIT Awards and me reaching my tweet limit because I kept going 'WHERE THE FUCK IS LANA' or 'COME ON LANA'
    Chelsea Hotel
    Juleak
    Gags shade
Seeing Lana lift her dress up on stage holy shit I melted at that stage

i can't even take this seriously, seeing as the #1 "flop" was artpop, which numbers can easily prove was successful. i don't think lana intended to create some incredibly successful and world famous piece -- i think she succeeded in what she was trying to do. tropico is clearly not supposed to be a film that everybody will enjoy, you either love it or you don't. also, i personally liked the songs she used. just because they aren't the newest, doesn't mean they don't fit the film. i think all her fans can at least appreciate what she was trying to do with tropico even if they didn't particularly enjoy watching it (i did, though). just like lana's music, tropico is a piece of art that will not be enjoyed by everybody, but should be respected by everybody. tropico was by no means a "flop." lana's happy with it and so am i.

VH1 should put themselves on the #1 spot.

Thought they died around 1998, haven't heard anything from/about them since this article.

Not since those horrific DIVAS LIVE concerts has the words VH1 been uttered before me.

    Poor cunts. x.

So glad you agree! I think Lana's 100% sardonic - mostly innocent but sometimes going towards the cynical side. That's how she can get away with singing such about ridiculously tabooed stuff, like how she objectifies herself the whole time. Also, anyone else would seem so stupidly pious and pretentious singing about 50s glamour, pin-up girl stuff and trailer park hardship, but Lana gets away with it because she's so tongue in cheek . We know she's sort of having a laugh at the same time. Think Behind Closed Doors . I'm also British and have to restrain myself from saying sarcastic,dead-pan things the whole time xD

I completely agree with this. I think that she had even somewhat planned the Paradise EP around Tropico. A lot of it is about her experiences, I didn't see any similarities to Gaga. I have nothing against Gaga, but not every single female artist has the intent to be like her, we all know what Lana thinks of her anyway.

YES. I have always thought that a lot of the time in songs she sounds sardonic. Maybe it's my British sense of humour kicking in xD
