I love how at the end of rewind she says "bring the beat back!" after the beat already came back

10th Anniversary of Ultraviolence - June 13th
pin up galore replied to shadesofblue's topic in Lana Thoughts
10 years of the album that got me into lana its hard to remember how or exactly when it was that I started being a fan of hers ive gone through old phones and photos trying to find a set date but what I do know was I remember Money Power Glory and Fucked My Way Up to the Top being the first two songs of hers I had downloaded outside of the few BTD songs my mom had like Blue Jeans and Summertime Sadness I think I found them through Vine? idk its been so long but its crazy I remember listening to them and being like "wow this shit is on some other level and vibe" and seeing this edit of Cruel World and Off To The Races and not knowing what Cruel World was??? which is crazy cause thats like my #2 fav song right behind the MAGNUM OPUS that is Shades of Cool still gives me chills the guitar solo is just so SINISTER sounding and the music video is one of her best if not her best the pool shots this album and era still feels mysterious to me I think its cause it had a lot less publicity and "content" compared to UV and I was there for the Honeymoon era and up so its like the only era that Im still learning new stuff about just an incredible record its so fucking moody and dark its overcast outside rn which is like perfect for this record the raw gritty unpolished unhinged melancholy nature of this album is still something else and I can't believe how young I was listening to this thinking that I like "got" it -
nobody gaf about charts outside of the stan world but when there's still dozens if not hundreds of copies of TTPD at every Target Walmart FYE Best Buy you name it the shameless desperation for dominance is just nasty blondie loves supporting other female artists until they get their own lil moment to themselves like just let Charli get the UK#1 its the fucking UK nobody even looks at those charts for her neways thats my lil chronically online piss rant my black vinyl w the 7" came today im excited to give them a spin after I play ultraviolence for the anniversary the album is just getting better and better with each listen like there truly isn't a second of dud on the record besides the long silence between 360 and Club Classics

pin up galore replied to colaandvideogames's topic in Appearances
woww what a once in a lifetime type of opportunity especially when she never does stuff like this that's crazy make sure to enjoy yourself and don't let other people's expectations of what info you might be able to get out of her influence you at all like you won this experience so don't feel pressured to do anything outside of what you want to do we'll get info on lasso and stuff in due time congratulations on winning things must be so surreal- 88 replies

the way brat is totally sorta kinda her Norman Fucking Rockwell! moment, an album that not only feels like a victory lap for the artist but also solidifies everything fans have been saying about the artist for years while also redefining the records that came before it and both achieving a new critical acclaim peak for the artist while also giving many new fans a great entry point to their discographies and like NFR! I think brat is going to be a big turning point for Charli, its like after this record I have no clue where she and the music is going to head next and after an album like brat that feels so full circle moment for her she really can go in any direction she wants

Im most excited for Guess I only heard about The Dare last year when people on twitter were bitching that his EP cover was promoting pedoism but I went back and listened to it after they performed together and it was okay! but Guess fucking pangs also George has starting teasing his own solo project with his t-shirts and the whole DHii thing... do we think were gonna get more Charli x George on it cause I think so!! this era has made me really like him ive been a pretty big fan of the 1975 since 2018 but never really gaf about any of them besides Matty but George is hot + engaged to Charli + has made some great music so far! like okayyy they're really cute together my power couple fr fr

I am also going to come forward as a I think about it all the time truther it has such a unique and intimate sound that reminds me of another song that I just can't quite remember I think the unpolished, slightly dissonant?, demo vibe to the song really compliments the raw, vulnerable, contemplative subject matter of the lyrics and the feelings she must've been feeling while making it the intro also reminds me a lot of Ive Never Loved This Hard This Fast Before by Tami T, which I love and I think is evoking a somewhat similar vibe and feeling

spring breakers following in the steps of her sister track taxi with the sped up version of both being superior

just saw that for at least the 360_brat vinyls you have to rip open each side of the gatefold to get to the vinyl knowing me mines gonna look busted af when I rip it but I love the idea packaging with intention>>> photo:

at the listening party my American ass heard "fall in love with gain in the game" in everything is romantic and now I have to rewire my brain back to "fall in love again and again"
-
So I hitting so hard tonight I think it fits perfectly in the album this record is so radically Charli and all of her facets ranging from pop star to 2007 club kid to Charlotte Aitchison

no but like fr tho its ultimate brat behavior to recreate the taxi unreleased hype but this time it's on HER terms and she's the one in control like...
-
im just ingnoring the fact she said anything about this album's supposed release until she actually kick starts the era like im treating this like 2016 where she's just living that life™, doing shows, obviously working on the album, and posting cute selphies on insta makes it much easier and plus there's so many releases coming each week this year its not like I have nothing new to listen to idk ive been kinda staying out of this thread for that reason like the delulu that anything is coming soon is deluluing

honestly the entirety of MAC but especially "Think about it, the darkness the deepness, all the things that make me who I am" hit so hard for me as a longterm fan as she had never really been this introspective and self aware of her reputation on a song like that before and for this man to send her into a whole introspective spiral on the album is quite crazy songs like sad girl or Brooklyn baby kinda addressed the same thing but it still came from within the LDR narrative where on MAC its like Elizabeth examining the LDR "persona" and how being the queen of sadcore effects her in her personal day to day life its just wow

I went into this thread like 5+ times thinking you posted this in the wrong place I just now understood what you meant

thinking about how yesterday at my listening party they had random Charli music videos playing on the tvs while the album played and during So I I look over to see Charli dancing in her bikini from the 1999 music video like nawt now Charles

AM updated the cover so now the brat text progressively gets more and less pixelated
