The lyrics and melody are incredibly lazy and boring and whoever says otherwise is lying to themselves and to me. If you didn't know this song was by Lana, y'all wouldn't be acting like "you don't ever have to go faster than your fastest pace" was some kind of amazing lyricism. I hope her label scraps the album and she takes a break to rest and recover her artistic juices if this is the kind of stuff she's putting out. Frankly this era is a disaster anyway.

Frankly this era is an immense flop. Still waiting for at least one interesting song. I feel bad because I love Marina, but damn girl these half-assed songs just aren't cutting it.

I guess my point was, music videos and promo shoots aren't necessarily not part of the art. -

She actually used to clearly put a lot of effort into music videos and photoshoots as an extension of the artistic process. Part of why video games blew up in the first place is because of that. I'm not sure what changed but she doesn't seem to care about the visual aspect of the albums at all anymore. -

The ratio is good because the only ones to listen to the song are her stans lmao. Nobody else has heard of it or cares. Her commercial flop era is coming. -

To y'all saying her vocals are still emotional and not lazy in this era... go compare her delivery on Lust for Life to her delivery on Paradise or BTD. It's light years difference. She used to be really experimental and would push herself to match her vocal delivery with the emotional tone of the songs. The fact is she is not pushing herself at all with delivery, not experimenting at all, and just singing every song in a similar lazy/comfortable way now. You might think it sounds nice, but don't pretend like it isn't just from laziness and her sticking in her comfort zone. -
I cannot wait to hear the studio version of How to Disappear. The first song in a while I have heard from her and literally gotten chills. So gorgeous and haunting

Art Deco has never been about azealia banks, Lana said this herself and it doesn't fit at all... On Honeymoon, one of her more personal, melancholic, and introspective albums y'all really think that she wrote a vague track about azealia banks for no reason? i really don't get why y'all still think this..

Fuck yes I am ready for world peace hippie folk shit Lana to be done and buried. Bring back the bad bitch I fell in love with.

Totally agree. The way she lived and breathed her music and persona for years was really fascinating and created the total package imo. It was like watching full time performance art. Before she seemed really passionate about the themes and the music and images of her albums as true works of art, and now it seems like she just sort of doesn't care too much about them. I feel like she makes songs now because she likes to and doesn't know what else to do, but totally lacks the passion that drove her early career. -
I mean... I don't think she had any illusions that this would be a huge hit. I think they are just songs and cute little videos she liked and wanted to put out. I wish she would promote herself more too and put more effort into her singles and videos, but it's clear she doesn't really want to do any of that any more and that's just her choice.

So I was feeling positive about antonoff's production prior to hearing these songs, but it sounds messy and unpolished imo. I love the song and wish it had better production... not sure if it's a choice for everything to sound so jarring, but it just feels messy to me.

this binch is wild as hell.... -
I'm kind of wondering why they decided to drop these songs now without much fanfare and not even the album announced or talked about yet? I don't think Lana has ever just released singles without telling us something abut the album unless I am remembering incorrectly. Interesting compared with the build up and big budget music videos we saw with Lust for Life lead singles.

I feel like even the ones trying to make this into drama and a big deal can feel how much they are stretching... I know it's fun to 'cancel' people for any perceived mistake but it's just getting old and tired at this point. She made it very clear why she was playing there and the backlash is super forced and weak as hell.

Lana to be featured on new track "Woman" by Cat Power

Imagine in 2018 still thinking Lana is 'manufactured' lmao. Are they still reading shitty 2012 hipster blogs??? -
I think the ThIcCnEsS looks great on her tbh. I do wish she would pump her lips back up though.
-
IDK why everyone is so concerned about the 'sound.' Lana has shown she can work with almost any sound in almost any genre. L4L wasn't weak because it had a 'poppy' sound, it was weak because it had weak concept and weak lyrics. She's an incredible songwriter and that's what I want to see again with this next album - if she nails that, production won't matter nearly as much as y'all seem to think it will.

y'all are stupid and mean little shits

And not for her fans either. When she made music just for herself it was the best.
