  1. Would just like to interject with a comment about how freaking excited I am for Tropico. I feel like it's been ages since we had a new Lana video so I'm beyond excited about this.
  2. I completely agree. Not that I can't understand why some people dislike it, but then I think that's the thing about being a part of a Lana community, it's like any community in that everyone will have hugely differing opinions. BUT, I adore Body Electric. Granted it's very repetitive, but I've loved it ever since the first time I heard it. I also thought it was beautifully done live on Sunday night. It was one of my favourite performances of the night, and I think it made more of an impact live when you're in that arena with the lighting effects, etc.
  3. This looks like it's going to be a great article! I think Lana looks gorgeous as ever
  4. This song is really beautiful. The combination of their voices works so perfectly together, and the video is the cutest thing in the world. I like that Lana still falls back on her idea of vintage footage, and it works so beautifully in this video. Aside from it being a gorgeous summery song, I love seeing her look so truly happy.
  5. I'm so excited about this! Combined with Florence and The XX this is a purely perfect soundtrack!
  6. I really love what I've seen of the Dreamland photoshoot. I think that when Chuck photographs Lana it always looks amazing, because she seems to so perfectly capture the vision Lana wants to create. Maybe it's a sibling thing. I just wanna see more!
  7. I can't believe I forgot to mention Video Games. It was the first Lana song I ever heard, and when I first heard it, I wasn't entirely sure what the appeal was. But listening to it on a more frequent basis, it has become one of my favourites. One thing I love about Lana is her idea of honouring lost love. I'm a huge believer in still caring for and respecting someone you loved who you aren't with anymore, and I feel like this song is the epitome of that. She turns the simplest of things (getting undressed, playing video games, etc) into this simple love melody. As well as all the big things in life, I like to remember details, no matter how mundane they are, and I think people forget how much happiness can be had from just simply sitting around all day playing video games with the person you love most in the world. To me, the simplicity sold it to me. It's quite a stripped song, compared to most others on BTD, but I love that. You can hear the haunting sadness at the same time as understanding her love for this person. I just feel a really strong connection with it, and of course, it was the gateway into my Lana Del Rey obsession.
  8. This is so perfect, I think this is my new favourite shoot for sure!! I love the photo of Lana wearing the black veil
  9. It's crazy, me and my best friend were just discussing this yesterday and we were saying how impossible it is. But I'll give it a go! Pawn Shop Blues- I think if I was only ever allowed to listen to one Lana song, it would be this. It's sad and beautiful and I think it's one of Lana's best lyrical creations. I connect so much with the lyrics and they got me through a time of my life where I gave up someone I loved. The whole song just gives me shivers, it is beyond perfect in my opinion. Trash Magic- This is almost the opposite of what I just said about PSB, because it doesn't really consist of many lyrics, but I adore this song. I love the feel of it, the almost sadness in her voice. It is beautiful. Marilyn Monroe- I love Lana's fascination with Marilyn, I love the lyrics, I love the upbeat feel. It's catchy and lovely. Raise Me Up- This song is another masterpiece. It just is. Junky Pride- I love Lana singing acoustically, and I love this song in particular because the lyrics are so beautiful. It's gentle and honest and I just really think you can see both her strength and vulnerability through this song. Honorable mentions: Yayo, Dark Paradise, Body Electric, For K part 1, Dangerous Girl, Motel 6, Prom Song, Summertime Sadness.
  10. I live right on the outskirts of London and have a very boring, entirely uninteresting key. I need to get involved in this unique keys thing, I'm completely oblivious!
  11. I so agree. It's such a good song.
  12. I always thought it was 'I pray your life is sweet, you fucker', but I could be wrong.
  13. I also have no idea what all the terminology means, but it's a really interesting thread because since hearing Lana's unreleased stuff I have been fascinated with her amazing vocal range. I was utterly shocked by 'Sirens' because it's so different from the sort of smoky voice of BTD and Paradise.
