  1. it's not out until the 19th here, but i will be seeing it opening day for sure
  2. lmao idk how i forgot i will, i'm still not used to this album having a title guess we'll see
  3. from every database i know of that lists songs she's written i've got a list of exactly 10 songs co-written with ariel or blake everything is embarrassing sad dream ghost lost in my bedroom pretty dull 24 hours love in stereo ain't your right i can't say no to myself home sweet home then, of course, there's you're not the one which as the first single will obv be on the album, bringing us to 11 if i had to guess, she won't put ghost on the album bc it's had the least overall impact of the songs on the ep (red lips i'm not even factoring in bc she's made it abundantly clear that even if at one point that was the direction she was considering, it bares no sonic resemblance to the album). eie is her money song if she's ever had one, lost in my bedroom was early on cited as indicative of at least 50% of the album, and sad dream means a ton to her and has been cited as indicative of the other 50%.
  4. interview with noisey/vice: it’s ten up-tempo songs, all still pretty electronic, although for some reason it comes across more pop-rocky live. I’m still trying to make it sound more like the record when we play it, which hopefully will get done because I have some shows coming up pretty soon. I’ve actually just been finishing the artwork for the album, it’s simple, but intense. There’s not much to it. but there is a lot to it. Does that make sense? Probably not. You just have to see it. http://noisey.vice.com/en_au/blog/sky-ferreira-on-turning-21-weird-internet-rumors-and-amanda-bynes-brain didn't even realize until i went back to find the quote that she tells us the album has 10 tracks!
  5. maybe it's a reflection of what kind of person i am but i really didn't see the problem with this interview until i read this thread/ontd's comments abt it
  6. y'all need to relax, we've waited this long a month more won't kill anybody she's shooting the new video july 1-2 with grant so the single is coming. she's discussed the photoshoot for the packaging and as stated above, the album's been sequenced and finalized. i don't agree with the "true stan!!!1" nonsense that was happening a few posts before me but imo, hoping for a leak by her or by anyone else bc you're impatient is ridic... think how impatient sky must feel, this is afterall her chosen career and her main passion in life. she wants the album out even more than any of us do.
  7. @@Matt i'm so happy you finally got to see the bling ring and that it lived up to your expectations. i def agree with you regarding the pacing, i think particularly in the beginning of the film certain scenes felt like they were just unfolding when the decision was made to cut to another one. it didn't even feel like a 90 minute film when it was over, but when i think about it i wouldn't have wanted it to be any longer... i think it accomplished what it set out to so magnificently in such a condensed period of time. also i'm so happy to hear you echo my feelings about katie! i hope this is the beginning of a great career for her, she was on point. i also was pleasantly surprised by taissa... she looked nothing like tess but her line delivery redeemed that for me. i have to ask you since you are also such a fan of spring breakers whether or not your mind went to the same place mine did when watching tbr... ANYWAY again so happy you got to see it, so happy it was a great experience, all that jazz. idk how frequently i'll be posting on this board anymore just bc there isn't much going on here and i don't have much to say about lana when she's in this lull currently lol but matt if you have tumblr pls message me a link and i will follow you! i just made a new one that i think i'm just gonna keep film-centric + random posts re: my other interests lol but before i go 2 things!!! 1. I'M SO EXCITED bc the place beyond the pines comes to dvd august 6... so far away but worth the wait 2. that grant singer short, IRL, will be streamable on monday, june 24 at irlfilm.com, at which time it'll also be available on hulu/itunes for purchase. a 2 min clip was released the other day and you can watch it here
  8. very excited for the wolf of wall street. the trailer is fantastic and i will continue to be flabbergasted by those who dismiss leo as one of the greatest talents of his generation. i've rewatched it several times in the past hour tbh.
  9. i am so excited for the canyons, idec. also for the spectacular now, thanks for that info matt - another reason to go see the bling ring again! is anybody else really looking forward to seeing IRL? it's a short directed by grant singer, who recently has directed all of sky's videos for her ghost ep with the exception of red lips and starring sky ferreira among others. it premiered in la last week after screening @ cannes and i'm desperately waiting for info on when i can see it in new york! An alienated girl struggles to piece together the events of the previous night over 24 incandescent hours in New York City, only to be reminded that nothing is ever as it seems in a city where everyone is a self-made avatar, and violence looms like a halo.
  10. last night i had the INCREDIBLE fortune to be in attendance at the bling ring's new york premiere at the paris theatre. my university's program board secured a limited amount of passes for seat fillers and a friend and i were lucky enough to jump on them fast enough. i got to the area where the theatre is located way early, so i sort of just roamed around (with an injured foot, wearing loafers as part of the semi-formal dress code, no less) to kill time. a lot of premieres apparently take place at the paris, but i thought it was especially fitting that the bling ring was about to premiere there bc it's across from the plaza hotel and just round the corner from bergdorf goodman, chanel, etc. ( ) finally at around 5 pm i got in line and i was glad i did because suddenly tons of other students/people who attained seat filling passes elsewhere showed up. my friend met me and we waited until about quarter to 7 before they let us in! unfortunately we didn't see any red carpet action outside, and bc the la premiere had just happened days ago we kind of figured at the most maybe sofia would show up but we didn't hold our breath for emma et al. inside the theatre they played the soundtrack (which i think was perfect onscreen tbh) in its entirety. i was getting so excited and anxious, the film was supposed to begin at 7:30 but it wasn't until closer to 8 that a man walked up to the front of the theater, feet away from my right, to speak. IT WAS THEN THAT HE WELCOMED AND ASKED THE AUDIENCE TO JOIN HIM IN CONGRATULATING WRITER/DIRECTOR OF THE BLING RING SOFIA COPPOLA!!! everyone went crazy but turning around i couldn't see her. suddenly she shouted "i'm trying to make my way!" or something bc people were standing in the aisle lol. she walked down looking beautiful and at first it didn't register but i soon realized that filing behind her were the leads of the film! claire, katie, emma, taissa, and israel all stood beside her as she briefly introduced the film. i think at this point i momentarily died. they then filed back (i'm not sure if they stayed or not tbh) and the film began. i don't want to give anything away, though seeing as it is based on true events i guess spoilers aren't as big a concern, but i WILL say that i thought sofia and everyone involved in this film did a fantastic job. i think it will definitely stand as sofia's most accessible work (though personally i feel if given the chance her work isn't at malick levels of ~*~challenging~*~) but i was still very aware i was watching a sofia coppola joint in all the best ways possible. there are nuances and subtle moments in this film that i think really drive the ideas sofia wanted to put in the audience's mind home. the cinematography was beautiful, the acting was on point (emma slays in this, and for those doubting her accent in the trailer she successfully made me forget she's a british actress) and ugh... i just loved it. i can't wait to see it again when it's released. on a final note, bc i think not knowing what elements of pretty wild were going to be used outside of the stuff seen in clips/trailers added to the joy of the experience, i will say this: fans of the show will NOT be disappointed. i apologize if this sounds unprofessional/rambly but tbh i don't have the focus rn to do a proper review (i'm extremely sick and the fact that i was able to attend last night is nothing short of a miracle) and i'm still reeling from the experience, but wanted to share it with my fellow film enthusiasts ^_^ can't wait till y'all see it and we can discuss it together!
  11. mandy moore tbh, her last 2 albums were perfect
  12. i can never keep it straight whose wish i stayed came first? i remember there being drama about that a while back lol
