The editor's notes on NFR on Apple Music is lovely. It's basically what my video essay I shared years ago theorized about Lana's discography/videography.

The California wildfires in the background on the cover are exactly why this is gonna be a damn masterpiece of an album and praised everywhere.

Cringe and all, yeah. Funny, and true and yeah, yeah.... at least she didn't switch randomly to her singing about throwing him around like a hot potato. That's not just cringe lyrics, that's incredibly oblivious writing by someone unawares of subject structure.

Touché. I'm still more offended by the idea that someone would think Lana could write lyrics with errors in that kind of continuity.

"In the cockpit I'm your pilot....take me up there with you I'm not crazy" The Darla "leaks" are piss poor lyrics. I mean... look at that contradiction in writing alone. Jesus.

Maybe by the time this sentence is done I'll be able to be honest and capable of holding NFR in my arms without letting it fall.

NFR will get an 8-9 on Pitchfork. Calling it.

Not basing on just "good/bad", focusing on the actual criticisms. For example, if someone hates Cherry for the swearing because it seems random, it's a sign of wee bit of media illiteracy that one wouldn't even acknowledge the satire in the song, not to mention in others... like Brooklyn Baby, where people complained about her hydroponic weed line when UV first dropped, but backed off when they realized what the hell she's doing as a musician. Not saying someone's dumb for disliking it or disagreeing with my own, but it's kind of crazy what it implies about the criticism of the swears in it being random. That's just not true.

You can tell what kind of music listener a person is based on their opinion of Cherry (not their final opinion, but their reasons.)

This is my new single. It's not from an album, and is intended to be a standalone piece in itself. I hope you get caught up in it somehow. It was a pretty cathartic thing to make at this point in my life. You can download it for free on Bandcamp!

Somebody came into work today while Salvatore was playing and was all like "who is this? she has an amazing voice and style" and I said it was Lana, of course, and she was like "oh, wow she's not very good I've heard" to which she then showed no interest. So then I screamed NORMAN FUCKING ROCKWELL in her face because gurl needs to learn how to live her own life, jesus.

Wait, is the album dropping Friday?

I have a friend who knows a guy who knows a girl who knows a guy who has a friend that says I'm gonna die because I'm impatient.

Bumping this up to ask for some reviews.
