I just love "Lost In My Bedroom" so much, I can't stop playing it this summer

Difficult! I've been thinking about what kind of conversation we'd hold if I met her and I'm not sure it would be very obsessive at all. It's pretty cool, actually, because she's on this level of seeming a lot more human than many other artists I love. Like we could easily hang out and be friends. So there's not a whole lot to pick up and adapt to my everyday life? For instance, in some parts of high school I was a real ~dare to be different~ little shit thanks to Lady Gaga, and today in the absolutely depths of my Lana obsession I'm hanging up American flag shit in my room and vibing on trash culture and older dudes. With either of them, much as I'd love to try, I don't think I could have any dynamic but "divinity/worshiper". Whereas I could go to the movies or do drugs with Charli.
 
I have always gravitated to a witch/horror movie aesthetic and it's cool that she channels that at times because it's like a match made in heaven and I can pin magazine clippings of her soft grunge ass on my bulletin board and have it fit perfectly
 
It also doesn't help that no one IRL likes Charli, though
 
OH. I also have some black roses made of cheap ribbon and wire on display bc I intended to throw them at her at the concert but they got crushed And I quote "B!TCH ZO SXC" often.

Just no, they're different types of music. 

This doesn't have anything to do with the daily topic but it's 4:23AM (when I begin typing) and I'm listening to Charli, feeling all emotional, etc. and I just wanna write about how & why I love her.
 
Honestly, the music she makes is what I've always loved and felt most connected to than any other type of music. Even before I came across her music, I'd always had ideas in my mind of the "perfect artist" that had a discography that completely & perfectly matched the type of music I'd only dreamt of. That sounds a bit cheesy but I really mean it. The whole dark electronic 80s pop ethereal soundscape has always appealed to me the most, but I'd never found an artist that had more than a few songs like that.
 
When I first listened to Stay Away (probably my favorite Charli song) it seemed so familiar to me because it had aspects I'd picked out from other songs that I loved - but they were all wonderfully put together into this one song. Not to say the song takes ideas from others, not that at all, just that the elements that are blended together in that song - of electronic, pop, and just the vibes it gives off to me - made me nostalgic of all the other types of music I loved, and all the quirks within them that made them so great to me.
 
She's like this perfect artist to me because I feel like the way she visually describes her music is how I've always seen songs of similar styles that I love. I feel like her style of creativity matches with mine and that's such an amazing thing to find in an artist. I don't know if that makes sense to you guys but that's the best way I can think to describe it. Just that her style of writing and the sound of the music itself resonates with me on such a deep & empathetic level.

Honestly, if it's just old songs....
 
But I tell you what: my two favourite Marina songs, hands down, are "Blindfold Me" and "Bad Kidz". Both only exist in seriously miserable quality, and though I doubt she cares much for either anymore, I'd still love to hear them in HQ one day. After that, "Scab & Plaster" is still an awesome, brilliant track, and though she's expressed her displeasure in its leak, I can't see why it shouldn't find its way onto some other release...she didn't seem to hate it that much, it just didn't fit on the album. And don't forget that mystery "Electra Heart" song...if it's really with Calvin Harris, I will freak out.   

I really hope she gives us the studio version. 

Yes. The version we have is most likely just a demo, posted online by a label she was using in early 2011/late 2010.

Actually after the Marina concert I was mingling in the parking lot with my Charli shirt on and this very sophisticated looking middle aged black couple called me over to their fancy ass car. Now I thought I was being asked to sell them drugs but actually they were like, "We saw your shirt, are you going to meet Charli?" I told them I was certainly trying and we chatted for a minute about how great she is. Really took me by surprise because I assumed only tumblr teens were into her Queen of space pop breaking them age barriers

Less cute title! Ugh if it's just YNTO and remixes...Hopefully it's an EIE in the Ghost EP situation where the single isn't the title focus. Although it is the only confirmed track we have. Give me info, Sky, I'm starving
 
I was expecting to be able to sing along to her album when I saw her live but it's still exciting to get some more studio versions than we have currently.

Actually the night the info was released, this girl texted me, "I can finally stop obsessing over Marina!" Looking forward to more of that.
 
 
This is also true. Lady Gaga is like the first pop obsession I had (and thankfully laid my emo phase to rest ), so therefore it's a really different kind connection I have with her as opposed to a few other artists I love. However, the more exposure I've gotten since early high school, the more artists that have emerged that I consider equal (or even surpassed her)--Lana Del Rey for example. Allow me to tangent about bandwagons: While I don't doubt that there's plenty of secondhand-Gaga bandwagons for less popular female artists, people are too attached to this set amount of favorites. Like a ~trifecta ooh~ or something, that's everywhere. I'll admit to basically liking every tumblr fad female vocalist but I don't have to force myself--usually, I try to like them less to feel like I'm not turning into a white girl If anything, Lana exposed me to this side of music, not Gaga

I guess I was so in love with her a few years ago because she was really like the only pop star. Also she was really the only person I was able to keep up with as a young highschooler that wasn't a web-freak. 'Cause nobody used the internet then like we do now. However, she has a special place in my heart because she was like my first fave.
