  1. Title. Could be from her official discog or not. Which song had you obsessed with the artist that is Lana Del Rey? What comprised of that moment when you just knew it was THAT song that you had to hear live, had to see a video for, to be sung in a cappella so on. Born to Die was life changing, her voice, the instrumentals, the topics she'd sing about. I was mesmerized. Paradise came along shortly after, I marathon'd Tropico and waited for UV after her announcement. For me, it was all about WEST COAST. I remember Fern debuting it on the radio, and I'd been waiting to listen to it an hour before to make sure I didn't miss it. It was dark in my room I was just on the net waiting til it came. That song got me OBSESSED. The sensuality of it, the downtempo chorus, the subject matter, the guitar, those synths. It was so beautifully malefic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKxuiw3iMBE That was the moment I knew Lana had so much more to offer. Watched the live performance of it online at Coachella, the dizzying yellow lights that hit the stage and audience at the bridge. How the colors danced around her dress. Utterly mystifying. The vid's such a dream too. I'm not sure how many times I've listened to the song, and I remember some moments I've played it to extend my experiences but damnnnnnnn. What. a song. I'll stop there So. Which song had you hooked with Lana? What might be your favorite or most memorable memory while listening to it?
  2. So. Which part of the food chain did the butterfly end up to? Bc idk what I'm feeling but happiness is far from this thread thats fersure
  3. No I get it. I remember when I first listened to Born To Die, it just transformed my perspective on life little by little. Then we kinda got to see her everywhere for a bit, and it pretty great. The grandiose vids from BtD, how she sated our wonder with Paradise. The fuck you's from UV would make u laugh about life, the lullabies on HM. I remember being at UO listening to the music. I guess for me, LFL was amazing to the point of the White Mustang vid, the Love posters, all the magazines, some performances. It's funny too cus I think the last record was when I actually got to share how much I love Lana with friends as a kinda group thing, so that was a big deal for me. I mean she's a true stable name out there now, and I personally think she's influenced a wave of singing and style that no one can really take away. So there's that. Good things come to those who wait probs. I'm kinda hoping she'll change the music game, and elevate it again somehow with the supposed upcoming record. At the very least, LFL's a great transitory perspective on her part, so hey, that's something she's recently already shared.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLGXvTCkUa0 Her next release. But honestly I do miss her interview and live performance vids
  5. So. Anyone else wondering what she might perform? Sarcasm free, I hope Coachella makes a deep impact. and LOVE. I'm actually starting to think LFL might be the most appropriate album to pick tracks from to sing than the others. Since it's the most current . . I wonder if she'll have something new to sing, covers, and so on. Imagine her singing Black Beauty wOW
  6. . . . . but imagine Lana as a UN ambassador putting everyone on blast, singing CWIMM on a megaphone, whacking everyone with olive branches.
  7. I'm actually worried if this is the case. Stripped back is great, bc it can get very real. On the other hand, if it might not be that, it could mean a lack of cohesion. Or. the album's actually nowhere near finished. So. . I'm gonna hope for the first option
  8. So I was scouring the net bc it's still an IG update(?) It's prob not related to her project wise but this cannot be a coincidence I don't know what to say
  9. Ok but damn. Have u ever seen such a beautiful bebe
  10. Happiness is a Pupa, poss Marina collab, Jack Antonoff having a very LGBT friendly catalog. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL BEING ABOUT A MAN WANTING HIS FRIEND TO COME BACK. but. SYNTH POP ?? I'm conflicted . .
  11. Like a moth to a premordial, glittery drugged LDR6 aesthetic flamee . . . On another note Do you think Taylor's just fishing for another Wildest Dreams tho?
  12. Can we just all agree to decorate this thread with gifs. Colorful Lisa Franks gifs, and pass them off as the high on the figure 8 racetrack LDR 6 aesthetic?
  13. YES. I'll admit I haven't really delved all that much into their catalog, listening thoroughly only thru Pet Sounds the most, but yes. .! I got so excited when Love (YAIL att) came out, with the dreamy blue posters. Not just the "don't worry baby" 's during the outro of the track, but I started considering how Love was more of a somber version of the track. I can't put my finger on it, but there are a lot of sonic similarities of the two tracks. The opening drums? The tempo, the cadences? I think it may be small melodic similarities. Either way, I hope she goes more towards this direction when she comes out with her next album. The dreamy feel, the happy, innocent sound, contrasting with life-affirming lyrics. I'll stop there for now hahahaha
  14. Honestly, for me, the era ended soon as she entered the freeway and drove off in the WM video. You Must Love Me was nice to listen to, but I'm not sure that it was her best. and this. I think it was just her arriving with J Leto I'm not sure, but was that all that became of the Gucci campaign? Imagine Cherry having a fashion/ look video. Would've been sweet
  15. To an extent I believe u bc we know whatever she makes it still sounds and feels herself so yes but I was listening to Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige and ngl I kinda started laughing a bit wondering how Lana would sound if she actually managed to sing like them stylistically anyway. Not that it'd be bad bc she's a voice of an angel, but I think the surprise would be enough to make me giggle a bit. It'd just be a contrast bc her voice is so beautifully effortless, and the spunk usually coming from RnB would b a stark contrast imo. Imagine - I was speaking more about vocally, the ticks and so on, but I get what ur saying tru tru * Ohmygod @@Lust I wasn't paying attention. Alicia Keys and Frank Ocean YES . .. .! ! I think they'd mesh well
  16. Ok so tho on a another note. Am I the only one who thought of Lana ever doing RnB? I mean a part of me is laughing bc I feel it wouldn't mesh as easily as other genres she can delve into, but. Imagine? How would that sound even?
