  1. surf rock, desert rock, hawaii glam, ... It's all good (except for the trap lfl-style)

I'd love more of a 60's influenced sound too. The title track, and Get Free just  :icant:

On another note tho, it's been 8 months since she's released the album's trailer on yt. May 26th, July 21st, concepts and demos, Change being added right before the album's release

  2. So we're all at least aware that Honeymoon was a touch inspired by the creature from Blue Lagoon, with its whole beauty and the beast dynmic going on thru vintage filters but for the first time i've actually felt genuinely spooked by the opening strings on the title track. I was gonna go out for a night run at our neighborhood park, and well I thought oh hey, maybe I should listen to Honeymoon on my way down the hill to run around the field.

The light posts were only lit down specific areas of the park, and there was this unlit part I had to go down to, the mist was heavy, the trees sorta felt like a risen swamp, and god it just made me anxious. There was another guy walking around the park, well I only saw his silhouette but anyway, it was just so different to actually experience that kind of strange peril from the song. I mean I came out safe wth, but it was pretty um strangely exciting

  3. Although I love the album so much, I've noticed this records a bit more subtle and elongated when it comes to the hit and peaks of its tracks. I haven't heard anyone mention Beautiful People's bridge yet, for just a few seconds right at 3:08 til the next few lines, where her voice sort of echoes and fades at "try" with the soft, haunting synthesizers over them, just

Also at 5:29 to like 5:36, in Heroin where her voice just blends together thru layering and you can almost hear soft ah's towards the end, it's like listening to a group of sirens cradling you in the air

I love how majestic she sings the first lines of Get Free, especially with "Finally" with the strings following dramatically almost instantly she's enunciating the lyrics. It sounds so triumphant and reassuring

  4. Title.

Where does your mind wander to first, before having a listen to each of Lana's albums? We all know each record has it's own themes, so for the most part, having a different set of feelings (or not) would only be natural when it comes to listening to her songs.

For me, for the most part

I get a rush of adrenaline when it comes to BTD. Hustle and bustle, lots of frenetic energy
Ultraviolence is the most like a therapy session where I feel easiest to vent, scream weep and let go emotionally
For Honeymoon, I can just unwind the easiest, literally think of nothing and just less, which is a big deal for me
Lust For Life and Paradise are when I'm most contemplative, Paradise when I'm feeling most numb and wanting to feel, and LFL to wanting to keep growing.

So where does your mind wander, and how do you see yourself thinking and feeling when it comes to each of em?

  5. I think everyone’s problem is that the book is lazy. It’s just the same lyric book re-edited over and over again. Originally it was just Born to Die, with the pics chosen by Lana. Then they added Ultraviolence. Then they added Honeymoon. And they’ll probably add Lust For Life next tour. Problem is, they’ve just been stacking the CD booklets on it ever since. It’s obvious Lana hasn’t been involved with it besides choosing the pics for the original version, and her team keeps pushing it as a merch collectible to make some tour coins. That’s why most don’t think like it. But if you like it and you’re willing to spend your money on it, then do it! :P

I get what you're saying and I agree.

To add, I think it would've been so much better to have each album separate from each other, with their own colors, and their own selected visuals. Collectible, and well, solid each on their own, like each album is

  6. We all know how Lana's more than capable of eliciting all these emotional reactions thru her music, by her very singing. Like at the end of Ride, where she swoons her heart out thru higher notes, @7:20, like in Burning Desire, and Cola

Makes me shine, like diamonds, with the note polyphony

At the start of Honeymoon's bridge, where she dips then lightens her notes, first lines

Or just the blaring synthesizers on West Coast @3:53, or at the choruses of Shades Of Cool

Plenty of life thru the music. So, which musical moments on Lust For Life do you consider the most beautiful?
