    Britney Spears

Yeah it was just a rumour but it was interesting nonetheless. BJ could have worked as her most personal album if she'd a) actually written the lyrics b) actually recorded the songs c) given at least 1 fuck about the era d) no will

Yeah it's a shame really, a LOT of the potential stuff for BJ would have been excellent and much better than the lazy mess we got. I heard a lot of producers apparently pulled their stuff out of the album because they found out Britney wasn't going to promote

Charli did some work for Britney during the BJ era but it was rejected

WOW this is incredible. Not that I'm surprised that she released such a smasha. G-Eazy isn't that bad on the track, though I think Drake would fit better. Best song of the year.

Video audio snippet: https://soundcloud.com/aprilmoons/1234567890a Definitely not, Myah is not at all involved this era. It's 100% Britney's vocals. Sex has always been a huge part of Britney's music, from the Catholic schoolgirl outfit to the red diamond nude outfit.

  15. I don't see the problem with adding backup singers/dancers, they're just there to provide something extra and hardly signifying anything about her career. Lol some of you guys read too much into things.
  16. She doesn't look sad to me, but instead very very angry + pissed off. I feel that the backup dancers were the label's inclusion (but I may be wrong), this could have had an effect on her attitude. Even so, she looked stunning and that Yayo performance was fantastic (very Lizzy-esque).

    Say Lou Lou

I've heard that it was from a post-Lucid Dreaming session, but not necessarily an example for the direction SLL2 is going to go in.

    Rihanna

Yeah, Umbrella was shopped around for loads of artists before it was given to Rihanna, even Britney was supposed to record it! I agree, her vocals were always good, but the LOTB performance showed that she's drastically improved as a vocalist as well.

    Rihanna

I agree with you there, I do really enjoy singer-songwriters like Lana + Gaga etc, but at the same time I love people like Rihanna + Britney who don't necessarily contribute to all their songs. Though the latters' contribution to the songs themselves in comparison to the formers' is very minimal (particularly Britney's), their songs are still memorable + beautiful because they make it their own. Could anyone else sing ...Baby One More Time? Or Umbrella? Or Work? The thing that I dislike about Sledgehammer is because she's trying so hard to sound like Sia, which doesn't sound right at all. Rihanna has a gorgeous voice, as shown in songs like Love on the Brain, and she does her best when she sings naturally in that way instead of trying to be someone else. The choosing of songs doesn't correlate to your ability as a singer, it's your vocals that are foremost important in judging your singing abilities. It doesn't make you a singer whether you write/don't write your songs. Don't worry, I don't see it as an argument, I know you're just debating it!
