No, sis. Clearly that wasn't my point, considering I'm not the one trashing Lana for censoring the names of these people to literally do that exactly thing (protect identity). My point was that making up random names to replace these people who have real names would seem contrived and unnecessary. I believe the way she chose to do it is perfect.
  2. It's true. It's so shady, like payola type shit but much more sketchy. If you have to ice out free streams in order for your album to sell, your album is clearly fucking shit (and so are you) and does not deserve the #1 spot. The public is clearly not here for Meek Mill and they don't wanna give their coins to something so tasteless. If the album can't get the #1 the fair way, it doesn't deserve it. Him going #1 would just be inauthentic anyways. Both Tyler and Lana put out albums miles better than Meek's. Sorry. I'm raging

It was personal choice I'm sure. It gives the song more meaning to her. It probably meant a lot to her that she included it and using fake names would be stupid and shallow imo.

Lana said herself that the song told about her "entire journey" up until this point. These "censored" words obviously have a shit ton of significant and are super personal. I'm confident they're names of people. Perhaps people she's lost to drug-abuse or other things. Heroin leads me to think she may have lost someone to this drug and maybe she mentions him/her here? "I'm doing it for all of us who never got a chance. For ____ and for _____. For all my birds of paradise who never got to fly at night". She probably included this part because she wanted to honor these people in her song and keep it sincere to her story without exposing these people or disrespecting their names. She didn't want to get too specific or revealing but felt she needed to acknowledge that she's searching for happiness for not only herself but for those in her life who never got the chance to find it before leaving the earth.
  5. TIDAL is a fucking joke. I can't believe people actually use it. The fact that Lana will be snubbed her #1 from Meek even though she's outselling him digitally and has way more streams is so annoying. Fucking TIDAL can die. I'm being dramatic but ughhhhh
  6. Lana is obviously a feminist. She's a supporter of women's right and has spoken about that as of recent. She just knows how awfully sexist the media has been toward her, saying she's a horrible example for women so she probably feels bad now if she admits she's trying to be a voice of power for women when her past work seems to contradict that. It's really the result of a sexist media that she can't even admit being a feminist. They make her feel like she can't be proud.
  7. Sorry the interviewer guy bothered me. He seems so monotone, so emotionless, and so uninterested. Idk. His questions were pretty good but he just seems like some sports jock douche. Not the first person I'd think to interview Lana. Maybe I'm ignorant. Has he interviewed the queen before? I loved when he called the Summertime Sadness Remix her "biggest hit" and she replied with "really? You're gonna say that". I'd get offended too lmao. "Video Games" is definitely her biggest, signature hit.
  8. The COMPLEX cover slays https://instagram.com/p/BXBAhhcha39/ 20 minutes of Lana talking? I'm shook.
  9. So apparently Meek and Tyler are predicted to end up selling more this week than Lana? But where? We need to keep buying and streaming, gorls!
  10. Lana is BACK TO #1 ON US iTUNES! I feel like this is the longest her album has stayed at #1 in its first week. It's been 6 days! So proud of my bb.
  11. I prefer Apple Music because it's way more organized and I can actually see every album I have and it looks so sleek. Spotify is messier and honestly less user friendly imo
  12. That's just the sales climate these days. Katy and Lorde had constant promo leading up to their albums and only debuted with a little over 100k which is disgustingly horrible in contrast to how they would've done 3 years ago.
  13. You can actually see in that first second of the complex video that there's a hand holding out a lighter to lana
  14. What is this? Like I don't get it? Is she gonna be on a Complex mag cover with a video to go with it? What is the video? A music video, interview, mini documentary? Someone plz help a gay out
  15. I'm so obsessed with GBA. The melody is a classic and the lyrics contribute something to this country's current political conversation without stepping on any toes. Should replace the original God Bless America.
  16. Except TNC is super sad?? And an artist's songs usually reflect their feeling so I feel if she's writing sad music that must mean she's sad, otherwise she's not being authentic.
  17. My comments point was to tell people that they shouldn't be so affected by whatever he or any critic has to say. It doesn't affect how I view the album and I've stopped watching his videos because I consider them biased and irrelevant. Don't worry hun I've watched him review plenty of albums. I love FKA twigs and he stans her album so hard, praising her in the same areas he bashes Lana for doing the same thing. Critics have always been u fair towards Lana for whatever reason. It's not a new thing and I don't like it, sis and I'll voice my opinion on that. Fantano has said plenty of positive things about my other faves, doesn't make me value his opinion any more or less, so you made the wrong assumption... again
  18. 4 days after it's release and the queens album is back to #1 on US iTunes. I'm so proud right now.
  19. Not y'all actually being bothered by something that Fatano guy has to say about the album of the year that is Lust For Life. Stop reinforcing this false idea he's created that tells him people actually value his biased and unprestigious opinion.
  20. I'm pretty sure the reason she isn't performing a bunch of LFL songs because they're so new and she hasn't had any time to rehearse them and she's usually very shy about performing songs she hasn't don't a lot of, hence why we've been watching her perform the same album for 6 years straight. Not like she couldn't find the time in the past 6 months to rehearse.
  21. I enjoy the production on UV the most. It's grittt, psychedelic, so atmospheric and classic. However, Honeymoon, from a technical standpoint and without bias, is her most well-produced album. The production is so perfect and sleek without coming off contrived or "too perfect". The production on HM elevates the songs so much and creates such a strong soundscape that it engulfs the listener. UV, BTD, and LFL are all more exciting production-wise but are not technically better. I mean "best production" doesn't mean "personal favorite production". It is her most well-produced album, hence why critics were so nice to it despite it being a snoozefest.
  22. No one cares but idc, this is my ranking after 10 listens of the full album 1.) Get Free 2.) God Bless America 3.) World At War 4.) 13 Beaches 5.) Heroin 6.) Cherry 7.) In My Feelings 8.) Summer Bummer 9.) Love 10.) Groupie Love 11.) Beautiful People 12.) Change 13.) White Mustang 14.) Lust For Life 15.) Tomorrow Never Came 16.) Coachella
  23. Yeah it's both because of the mic she uses in those songs, they must be similar to the ones she used in Ultraviolence. Pretty sure the static means the noise gate on the monitor is very low and so other low frequencies in the studio such as vents, fans, breathing, just general noise / static gets picked up. On her more polished, poppy songs she sings with a noise gate (or a filter) which drowns out all the alternate sounds around her and eliminates static so the sound is more polished and clean. But I feel like on grittier songs like Heroin and Get Free, she wanted the sound to be more intimate and live so she kept the static because it makes it sound more vintage and down to earth.
