It's killing me to have the entire album downloaded into my music library and not allowing myself to listen to it. I need to make sure my first listening experience is accompanied with beautiful scenery and a captivating atmosphere because I've found that what I'm seeing or doing while listening to Lana's music the first couple times defines how I feel about the song and what I look back on when hearing it in the future. I like that in the album version the "white lines and black beaches" part is the bridge. It's more exciting. However, the little "ahs" in the intro of the alternative version are super sexy and exciting. I wish they'd just combine that intro to the album version.

Okay. I am in love with CHANGE. "I can feel it blowing in on the wings of a psalm". I absolutely love how this song is signifying the changing of times. With our current president in office here in the United States, a lot of things are about to change and for the worse. But Lana sings with a sense of haunting hope that encourages to consider how we will bounce back from this and create a POSITIVE change.

They've both only had one #1 album and Meek's sales are usually better. There's always some rapper who comes along and snatches from Lana. But Meek will likely only get revenue from streaming and digital sales. Lana's fan base is very loyal and people feel more inclined to also purchase a box set, physical album, vinyl, etc. in addition to a digital copy of Lana's albums so she has that advantage. Her strong image and consistent aesthetic is basically the reason she can still sell without promo.
