  1. Pretty sure "change is a powerful thing, people are powerful beings, trying to find the power in me to be faithful" is part of the chorus
  2. Leaks often help an artist sell more because people who would usually not bother with the album have time to listen before deciding to buy and it creates hype
  3. "I'm gonna OD on promoting the album next week. warning. i never had a number 1 and i know my album better than everyone elses that day, fact" - Tyler the Creator Not sure if this was shared yet. But the shade. I thought him and Lana were friends. We've gotta get our gorl to #1 next week gays and gals.
  4. I agree with those who are saying they can appreciate Coachella more now. When we first heard it back in May, many of us saw all the negative feedback given by others that our opinion of it was tainted even before we could listen to it ourselves. It's crazy how powerfully influenced we are by our peers, even when it comes to liking or disliking Lana's music. It seems like I can appreciate a song I wouldn't otherwise like that much if everyone else is praising it and saying it's great, it's like it encourages you to dig deeper and find something about it to appreciate. With C-WIMM, I know I formed my own opinion on the lackluster production, but because everyone else on LanaBoards, etc. was bashing it tirelessly, it really made me feel like it was much worse than it actually is. Now, when I listen, in context to the album (snippets), I can see why it fits in. I still wish that repetitive hip-hop drum beat wasn't so prominent but the lyrics are interesting, the melody is rich, and that outro could bring tears to my eyes. It's not like anything Lana's done before, a lot like Ultraviolence, which is now my favorite from her of all time, so I know in years, Lust For Life will be golden.
  5. In My Feelings sounds so catchy. The melody is unlike anything she's done before and it's upbeat. But World At War sounds so different than I expected and is almost more uptempo which is exciting. I also love the lyrics to this one. Simply from the title, I've always been most hyped for this one and that remains.
  6. Why are we talking about the album "flopping". You can't even compare Lana's album releases to any other pop artist. There is no promo involved. It can't flop. An album flops when it is obvious that the artist and label are trying to aim high and they miss, selling less than expected. Just the fact that Lana can sell 100,000+ in a week without any promo, any radio support, any performances is insane and unprecedented in this era of music. Some of you are so dramatic and care so much about sales yet I don't recall the poor sales of HM making me enjoy it any less. With Lana, her "flopping" would not be based off of commercial sales, but instead based off the music quality and critical opinion which definitely seems promising this time around. Shut up whores.
  7. I bet it'll leak on the 18th for my birthday
  8. I interpreted this line as her saying "recall back to the days when you were young and wild and open-minded. Lean into those days when you could dream anything possible and had a wild imagination". It's a political line, I'd say. Many political issues of today arise from ignorance and people being set in their ways and saying "well what difference could I make?". In your youth, you think you're important and know you can make any difference you want to. So "lean into the fucking youth" probably means "go back to the mindset and hopefulness of your younger years when you were free, a dreamer, and never thought something was impossible and stop being cynical in thinking you can't make a difference in this fucked up world. It's kind of interesting that this song recalls back to Cruel World sonically, it gives meaning to the obscure title that wasn't mentioned once in that song.
  9. Idk lll be shocked if LFL gets a higher score than Honeymoon with 79+. That's universal critical acclaim. Her politically driven songs could help her or hurt her. Critics may say they don't contribute a solution and that she played them too safe. The variation in music style throughout could be praised or criticized for messiness and incohesiveness. However, when I first heard Lana was changing up her lyrical theme this time around, my initial thought was that critics would rave. She's been criticized every album cycle for having "shallow" and "anti-feminist" lyrics whereas on LFL these lyrics contribute a very socially aware and inspiring message to women and children who may be most affected by the current political climate of the US. Critics may really appreciate Lana's newfound lyrical inspiration, but critics have a tendency to be huge hypocrites too so who knows. She's giving us a sonic mix between UV (praised for its production) and HONEYMOON (also praised for its production) so it's likely she may be praised for the sound as well but docked points for duds like CWIMM or even SB. We'll see.
  10. Born To Die was mostly ripped apart by critics? Lol. And Honeymoon had even less promo than this era, LFL has just been more spread out because of the messy initial leak of Love. I think comparing a very radio friendly mainstream pop superstar like Gaga to Lana will just create completely unfair parallels.
  11. Omg my birthday is in 3 days and the album is in 7 days for me too!
  12. I'm an ungrateful kunt. I purchased the autographed vinyl in time and then realized I needed to spend my money better so I tried to cancel it but it didn't work and now I'm so thankful.
  13. A solid 69. I think tracks like Coachella, LFL, SB will really hurt the critic'a scoring but the middle to the latter half of the album will be praised, like all her other albums. Regardless, who cares. Her most critically acclaimed album is her most boring imo.
  14. My favorites from the snippets on first listen are: In My Feelings Get Free When The World Was At War 13 Beaches GBA In My Feelings will be the OTTR of LFL. It's upbeat, exciting, and more experimental melodically. The flow is the most exciting rhythm we've heard since BTD. It sounds radio friendly actually. Get Free will be a massive grower, which means it may become her new magnum opus. WTWWAWWKD sounds cool. I like the lyrics here more than any of the others I've heard and the chorus sounds like Cruel World which I love. I don't understand why her vocals were described as being super high soprano? It must happen at a different part of the song. 13 Beaches sounds super cool and sexy. Dark sexy. I'm glad I'm not getting HBTB teas from it. I bet this song will become one of my favorites off the record. The intro is super cool. Lana's never done something like that and it seems edgy and exciting and totally makes sense at the beginning of the record. GBA is beautiful. I know it'll be huge. The chorus sounds like it's going to be anthemic, with a very simple, classic melody that is easy to remember and will be referenced a lot during the 4th of July for years to come. Seems like a homage to the original hymn, "God Bless America" but with more modern understanding and an edgier lyric and production in the verses.
  15. I did not expect this sound from WORLD AT WAR at all! It's really cool and folksy. Not as dark as Lana made it sound and honestly it's giving me major Cruel World teas at the chorus.
  16. Omg y'all were right that In My Feelings snippet is AMAZING!!! I never would've expected this from her. It's so powerful and sexy.
  17. Wait why does the Cherry preview sound like it's been recorded off another iPhone at the verses? lol nevermind
  18. Lmao I got done with work 5 hours ago and somehow completely forgot to listen to the new snippets because I got busy. Imma listen now hunties
  19. Would y'all say you're more into these snippets than you were when her past albums began to leak?
