  1. this weeks challenge seems to have caused division amongst members of the audience jury, the girls in the house and the judges themselves i personally think some of the girls aced the brief others however... lets hope you have a time machine to return the gowns you purchased this week
  2. i will never get over how gorgeous she is
  3. the full story is not being shared here. i reached out to you - an olive branch of sorts - to reconcile and settle any differences we (you) had. i was unsure why you were so intent on stirring up drama that never existed in the first place. i then realised all you wanted was airtime, so i decided to give it to you the audience can see right through you. me and charli were and still are the best of friends, and i thought we were too. i explained to her at breakfast that i had to choose someone, and it was based on how people did in the challenge. she understood and moved on. you have shown your true colours today ru, and i hope the audience, judges and your yaks see that too also charli, i think all your toenails are beautiful ingrown or not <3 i’m sorry roop cant see that
  4. so excited to see lizzy back this week... me and the girls have been missing her so much since she was given the chop... i hope she is allowed back into the house so we can have one last slumber party oh you’re sick! this is genuine 1986 couture runway henny! i don’t do old maiden type dresses
  5. is pepsi okay? the year is 1981 and the cola wars are in full swing. one friend is for coke, your other friend is for pepsi. what do you do? meet in the middle baby! for my retro revival this week, my stylist and i were tasked with creating the 80's essence on a small scale. i thought to myself, what are some quintessential parts of the 80's? 1. retrofuturistic artwork 2. pops of colour and co-ord accessories 3. leggings, leggings, leggings! may i present my 1980's fantasy! mitski is adorned in a runway ready clude montana look, paired with genuine accessories from 1981-89 (including matching leggings, 80's kitten heels and a wide brimmed hat with built in headband)! this is all set against a background that fully encapsulates the era. an authentic airbrushed background to emulate the height of the cola wars... regardless of the beverage, you are going to want to drink. me. up. henny! my attention to detail doesn't stop there... my mismatched tan and my 80's brooch on my wrist show that this era loved a random accessory. it’s all about layering and poses! drink this up lanaboards!
  6. oh so now the claws are showing.. were meant to be sisters! why are you trying to create division roop? this isnt your fracking ranch, you don’t need to cause unstable foundations here too

  11. 'your best american girl...' beauty standards, what are they, really? growing up with japanese heritage, i always strived to be the best i could be whilst honouring my cultural and ancestral heritage. the pillars of japanese beauty are simplicity, elegance, suggestion, and symbolism, all coming together to form what we now know as the leading trend in makeup today, simple and elegant beauty that suggests expense, cleanliness and honour thinking back to my hit album 'be the cowboy', the cover explored these themes of being done up for societys sake and being viewed as an object: as displayed in my music, i have always struggled with this image of beauty, and it never felt right to slap on copious amounts of makeup for the sake of male attention in digesting these themes, my stylist and i wanted to go for a more natural look, showcasing the true natural beauty we all hold inside of us. that being said, it does help that my mug is gorgeous. this made me want to convey a more natural look for this weeks challenge... may i present, my beauty shot there is little detail left to the imagination, with my youthful and glowing complexion complimented by minimal to no makeup bar a simple gloss. this is brought together with a slight gaze off into the distance, showcasing my muted emerald eyes glimmering with such a softness that even the hardest of hearts would fall to their knees at. the lack of background is equally intentional, symbolising that true beauty needs no distractions and to keep your eyes on the prize instead of hiding my imperfections, i embrace them, and that is what lanaboards next top model needs to pioneer furthermore: another photo from the shoot, with a wider lens and a slight pose me getting ready for my shoot this week my inspiration and muse, myself
  12. i go back to alabama.. take a look at my life.. what the fuck happened here? you headline festivals and sell out stadiums, thats what
  13. the way she can multi-task with everything EXCEPT releasing an album and promoting the album at the same time - she has not been able to grasp that yet
  14. i’m trying not to get too excited for it incase she forgets it exists and 'leaves it on the cutting room floor' (RBFY flashbacks)
  15. this is the same woman that put summer bummer on the same album as change. it’s believable, especially with the country-infused lyrics i think when people think of country, they are quite myopic and tend to see it as the generic sound we all know, but i think it is a really wide genre and has alot of wiggle room for different sounds and sub-genres (see cowboy carter for example)
  16. ivory almond always has a home in the mod queue ❤️
  17. spare change, lanaboards? for this weeks challenge, i wanted to explore the theme 'homeless chic' but equally be respectful and pay homage to those less fortunate than ourselves. as a platinum selling recording artist, this took some soul searching. in thinking about my look this week, my stylist and i wanted to explore the more nuanced meaning of truly being homeless, and that led us to thinking about belongings. you can have so much baggage, but you can have nowhere to put it in exploring these themes, we have come up with 3 looks. these convey 'belongings', 'searching' & 'love'. these all come together to form a ru-veal lookbook, and i reveal each garment in a different setting to convey my hidden meanings for my first theme, i wanted to get across the first message, and show that despite not having a home, i wander the streets with my worldly possessions. hailing from my ancestral home, japan, i wanted to have my location as tokyo this week 'belongings' - main look handmade garments made from fabric found on the streets of tokyo, paired with hand-me-down chanel and balenciaga bags. truly embodying the meaning of homeless & chic 'searching' moving on from 'belongings', it became clear that there is simply more to the theme 'homeless chic'. in a shock reveal, i have showcased the true reality of being without a place to stay. searching the streets for a bed, i stay hopeful, and pay homage to those without roofs to sleep under 'love' in my final theme, a third reveal shows a parred down outfit with my one true love, music. i always stay true to my roots, and even without a home, i am humble and happy with my drum to continue playing for the world and doing what i love
