That gets me thinking about the time she posted about The Record Parlour and then they reposted her post and said “keep us in mind for that album release event” or something! I emailed them and posted their response here back in August: while I don’t think it’s the most logical idea to have an event during a pandemic, maybe it’ll be something where she just comes to sign vinyls and leaves them for people to buy? That is, if this even comes to fruition, lol

Elvis Fucking Presley! could have been really cool for Born to Die, especially since at one point, she was going to put a cover of one of his songs on it!

Aw, thank you, legend! I feel like I will too - I have this really strong feeling that it's going to become my ultimate favourite from her and I miss him too! He always had the most interesting (sometimes wild!) but ultimately most insightful and flattering things to say about her - I really valued his perspective!

I love that! And me too! Even just hearing the title track and Let Me Love You Like a Woman, there's such a timeless quality about not only the production and her writing, but just her voice in general. There's such a golden tone and warmth to it that is very comforting yet still evocative. I always felt like her voice was super motherly in that way, and to me, that aspect of her artistry is just one of many things that make her my favourite. I am so excited to see where she takes us! <3

I know this is basically the post-release thread, so while I haven't read any spoilers or listened to the album yet, I just wanted to say that I feel like her best, rawest, most personal work is imminent, and hopefully you guys who have listened can already say that! I am so excited! We're only 177 hours away, which is insane. The month of the release is always my favourite

To my fellow Canadians regarding the red vinyl with exclusive artwork - try calling your local Sunrise Records and read them the part number of the LP (which is 602435534039)! Mine happened to be receiving 7 copies and I reserved one for myself! I know @hlxon graciously let us know about Sunrise listing it on their site but I believe there's no way of ordering it directly from there so if you don't want to pay extra and go through the hassle of using an international forwarding service like Re-Ship, hopefully this works for you!

Also before I go - I have seen album release dates change briefly to being on the next Sunday instead of the Friday it was intended for but it ultimately goes back to the Friday date. I don’t know why, but I remember it happening before! So no, it is most definitely not coming any later than the 19th. No need to worry!

You would also think that in the wake of #FreeBritney, people would be more understanding towards artists in the music industry, and especially women in the entertainment industry...

Mental health is really important and I feel like pushing Lana to do something against her will is the exact opposite of what we should be striving for/what we CLAIM to strive for. She is always going to be successful so we should respect her process. She even said to Music Week in June 2020 that Ben and Ed let her handle things the way she chooses to because they are understanding of the fact that she does what she needs to do to ensure that she is at her best. Artists are human. Just my two cents.

Quick question: is that picture disc of the alternate HMV Neil cover (of her alone in the white dress) from the Serbian site legit? Is that the 3rd picture disc that hasn’t been revealed? Or is that just the B-side of the Spotify picture disc (with the horse)? Also wow - I cannot believe they already got ahold of the Spotify disc, let alone multiple copies!

I’m getting really excited about Dance Till We Die. I rewatched Lana’s performance of Diamonds and Rust with Joan Baez at the Greek Theatre and you can really just see how big of a moment it was for Lana to be up there singing with her, not to mention, foster a beautiful connection with her. I haven’t seen a lot of people talk about that song in particular but I feel like it will be one of the ones we end up relating to the most. As this pre-release comes to a close, I’ve read people’s sentimental feelings about the last 10 months and I feel like - as we’re all united here by our love for Lana - we’ve truly embodied the meaning of community and this thread (minus the drama ) is so emblematic of what music can do for people and how we develop these connections through it. Dance Till We Die (preemptively, to me) seems to be about that and I cannot wait to hear it. <3

I know, right?! And it’s not like all these people have jobs in the music industry, right? I was under the impression that they’re all normal people, sometimes students even? I have no idea how people go about doing that (not that I would ever want to, but I’m so curious because this happens all the time with Lana’s catalogue)!

I think BoZ on ATRL was the only person who people knew had info on the album, and they started talking about it in mid-July (I believe on July 25 they revealed it was in the process of being mastered?) And then I guess once the masters were done (around September) the other few people somehow got ahold of the record. Like you said, it’s all hearsay to us

I wasn’t sure, I thought Eclipse said recently that the other 5 people have had the album since September? But I remember BoZ talking about it on/around July 25!

Doing the lord’s work for us all It’s always cool to know a little bit more about her process for the records and what songs didn’t make the cut, but at the end of the day, we’re getting the album the way Lana intended so that’s what matters (and I say that because all of this conflicting information makes it so hard to discern what the truth is )!

Yes, I’m confused about that, especially since @new gods let me know that apparently people are now insisting they did have Yosemite with that batch, when a few months ago they didn’t. I don’t know what the truth is, I feel like a lot of it is just hearsay unfortunately. But based on this new information, I guess we can conclude that people got the album in September and it had 12 songs, and the final tracklist only having 11 means it’s clear that Dealer was the only song that didn’t make the final cut!
