  1. In regards to what the 'one word' is, Lana said it was one that affected the rest of the album. I immediately thought it was "mother" (which she says on BBS). The matriarchal theme has never been a present theme on any album of Lana's before, yet it underlies and informs many of the experiences she sings about on this record. Our familial upbringing – particularly our relationships with our parents – undoubtedly has the most impact on the way we move through the world.
  2. Both! I think Barrie’s involvement and general comments about working with Lana again suggest it was written in 2013, but it must have been heavily reworked or repurposed completely, as Drew Erickson also has credits on it, and Lana and Barrie allegedly had a session together earlier this year. So my guess is written in 2013, but produced in 2021 (the vocals are difficult to tell, they sound very 2013 but also very recent at times. I’m thinking the verses were recorded in 2021, but chorus was recorded in 2013, or something like that)!
  3. I really liked the performance! She looked wonderful and the noir feel of it all with her singing interlaced with close-ups of the studio was gorgeous!
  4. The little Blue Banisters album cover appearing on the screen as Stephen announced her performance
  5. The album release was the main event, the livestream was like a celebratory interim, and this performance is like the after-party. What a day!
  6. Me in the livestream commenting nice things at Lana while knowing she will never see them because I have a private trap account with 0 posts and 0 followers
  7. Of course! I think I remember seeing a "Lana Literary References" thread sometime within the past year? I think there was also one that had "Lana Inspirations" or "Lana Influences" in the title? I haven't seen them in a while, though! I'll try searching to see if I can find it!
  8. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill!
  9. cherri! We missed you, so glad to see you back here to celebrate BB with us! hope you've been keeping well <3
  10. She is so right about being nice. Like, basic niceness is rare to come by these days! And in terms of a woman getting mad — she’s not wrong #laywerlife
  11. That was really special, you could tell how much it meant for her to talk to some fans after the craziness of the chickens and paparazzi today.
  12. It feels so surreal to see Lana singing Living Legend in 2021
  13. This has been so interesting and insightful to watch - and to think, we have a new live performance in 2 hours too!
  14. The way she said, "Hi, this is Lana Del Rey" - I love her lol
  15. She is so sweet asking fans questions about themselves! I'd be like, "girl, this is about you, let me do the asking!"
  16. @Elle she mentioned you!
  17. I feel like Honeymoon and Blue Banisters speak to each other in some respect. There is the more visible synergy between Ultraviolence and Blue Banisters, but Honeymoon and Blue Banisters are both – in my opinion – Lana's most deliberate self-examinations. Honeymoon is more abstract and sensory in its reflection, whereas Blue Banisters is more lyrically dense and empirical. These are shaping up to be my top two favourites
  18. Wishing I were there but so excited for everyone who's going! The set-up looks amazing. I love when she does these little pop-ups because they're like fun, visual mini-worlds
  19. I am just so obsessed with this record – it is arranged so beautifully, it is so classic in feeling, it has sophistication, grace, and maturity. The lyrics are perfect all-around. Everything I love about an album. I imagine it will become my absolute favourite.
