How about creating a subforum in "Lana Thoughts"? There are approximately over +200 songs (not including songs yet to be announced and released, oh dear lord), and that alone is like 4 years of discussing one song every week. I think it's safe to say that it's gonna stick around for a while. On one hand it seems rather practical to keep it all within the same thread, but it feels like it's gonna end up becoming a nightmare if you wanna read something specific about a particular song. Don't forget to tag each thread title with the name in case it happens! Just a suggestion

Basically as @@Stoop Kid said, either case is fine really. Make this happen!

I just listened to On Our Way several times and I simply love it. It reminds me of long hot summer nights. You wear no make up and your hair is wavy and sun-touched. You still wear a bikini under your clothes and your skin is brown and shimmering. You spend a lot of time with your boyfriend driving around in his Chevrolet and you just feel free and loved.

My description above was the first image that popped up in my mind but listening more closely you can somehow feel that sadcore thing. Maybe because it's the end of the summer or maybe if you go even further the end of summer also marks the end of Lana's relationship because he is the boss and decided so. Just like they had an affair and know each other damn well and Lana wanted them to be a couple and he agreed for one summer. Desperate as Lana sometimes seems to be when it comes to men who leave her she just lived in the moment for one summer and didn't think about their soon end.

She probably wanted to write a happy song but couldn't get rid off a sad subliminal tone because her subconscious reminded her of the truth.

right. anyone who isn't a Lana hardcore fan wouldn't watch a short film just to see what Ultraviolence will sound like. Some teasers or a trailer could hit much more views and more people would buy the album. Although I'm sure Lana still doesn't really care about sales.

For me, this song represents the feelings of a new love, and how it can bring happiness+ hope for good things to come

It reminds me of summer time when I was just getting to know my boyfriend, and he would always drive and I controlled the radio 8)

Like @@Rafael, I like the way she uses different intonations for various lyrics, like in "How'd you get so hot?" to make it sound more flirtatious/loving

My favorite line is "You tell me not to worry because you're the boss" I like the way its repeated in the video.. the "heavier than heavenly" line doesn't resonate with me as much as it used to, now that I know where that saying comes from ;p

Also, I feel like this is one of her more innocent songs. Typically- even in her nicest love songs- there is a twisted element to it. I.e. "Never Let Me Go"- I can be your Nancy, you can be my Sid, "I Don't Wanna Go" - "Loving you isn't right" "It's original sin"  In "On Our Way", however, even though she's telling the guy that he's the boss, there doesn't seem to be any signs of an unstable relationship. She's saying WE're on our way ~as in they're going together~ instead of pleading for the guy to stay with her (or leave with her- i.e. Teenage Wasteland/ Lucky Ones, etc)/ lamenting the fact that her man has left her, which I think are common themes in LDR songs. (BUT this song also makes me think of EMGHW~ EMGHW being OOW's darker sibling song.. like the road trip that started in On Our Way turned bad)

i was thinking that maybe we could pool all of her songs together into some randomized generator like this once a week, and then discuss that song in depth; i.e what it means to you, what you think it means to lana, what you like about it, what you loathe about it, how it makes you feel, maybe play it for some friends / family and see how they react to it, etc basically anything centered around that one song for that week

i always thought that the lyric forum would be a good place to discuss song meanings, etc but there are so many separate threads its kind of overwhelming to devote all of the potential ideas / analyses / discussion topics to the 839843098 different songs. and tbh there are a lot of songs that i don't really listen to that much or think about that much but if we're kind focus our attention on it collectively, we might come to hear it / understand it in different ways. and some of her songs are so different, in terms of production / lyrical content / etc so i guess maybe different songs could bring forth different types of topics etc

good idea? flop idea? i can just copy and paste the song list into the generator if it sounds ok

There will be no tied positions this year. Songs with the same number of points will be ranked depending on the highest vote for that song. For example, songs A and B both have 10 points:

    Song A has: 5, 2, 2, 1

Song A would rank higher in the Top 100 because it ranked higher in somebody else's personal favourites list. Please keep this in mind when viewing results.

i can't even take this seriously, seeing as the #1 "flop" was artpop, which numbers can easily prove was successful. i don't think lana intended to create some incredibly successful and world famous piece -- i think she succeeded in what she was trying to do. tropico is clearly not supposed to be a film that everybody will enjoy, you either love it or you don't. also, i personally liked the songs she used. just because they aren't the newest, doesn't mean they don't fit the film. i think all her fans can at least appreciate what she was trying to do with tropico even if they didn't particularly enjoy watching it (i did, though). just like lana's music, tropico is a piece of art that will not be enjoyed by everybody, but should be respected by everybody. tropico was by no means a "flop." lana's happy with it and so am i.
