  1. the love mv was beautiful. i dreamt once to see  my veranda at night with huge colourful fast moving planets by the horizon and i think whomever edited the video should have coloured the planets more to make them stand out and give the video more life but it's still the best and most accomplished video of the era. the cinematography actually tells a story with the way the video is headed and because it fits the song perfectly ...  and even the b&w was used wisely

Someone educate me, who is David Lynch? Some of his most known works?

blue velvet, twin peaks ... look them up they look very lana btd era. he's a composer, musician, director, writer you name it with a particular creepy pastel aesthetic

  2. i really really love how deliciously mature she looks in this video, already in Love she looked so voluptuous and wise in an unearthly way but the BAR WM mv has her looking like a godess  :hdu:  :flutter:

you go Lana, i really think that the grounds in which she stands rn allow her to pen more mature and heavy lyrics so, if Heroin, F, Love, Architecture, Yosemite and RBFY are the direction she's going for i'm all for it. Themes of how things are and how things should be. I hope she makes an EP to close her journey of LfL or makes a more ambitious personal project for LDR6. As far as the video goes, I'll wait if she announces another one or she works her way though a new thing. I see her as having a very independent artistical mind so, jumping through conclusions, she probably didn't like how her label interfered with her UV mv and the whole debacle about the production with Dan Auerbach. I'm projecting but, I see why she would have a lull in terms of visual artistry. Also reading all these 2011/2014 think-piece writers wannabe and their botched up analysis and criticism of Lana's projects I'd be angry in a "you don't deserve me and my work" kind of way. I'd make iphone videos as a FU statement tbh ... And Lana has been releasing a lot: even artists who have their songs written and composed for them don't produce as much every single year. She's great in my books, now more than ever and even the classical artists of the past who stood the test of time weren't on their A grade in all instances. Lana still stands out because people are still concerned about her past work, all her previous albums and even her leaked/unreleased work is relevant to this day and she's unique and cohesive enough to justify why a lot of new wave artists look up to her.

I don't know why I wrote a whole brick to say that I love lana so much, anyway i'm sure the best is yet to come and she looks damn fine in the video.  :hooker:

  3. Well at least it seems like the audience that just likes Lana in a casual level liked the video. It's very Lana so that's nice

We all know that Cherry's video should/has to look like a perfume ad to reach it's full potential lmao

honestly i'm glad, i didn't like it as a music video but i wouldn't want lana to be flooded by negativity either - i really don't mind people being very receptive to the video in the comment section (i shouldn't, but i get very protective of her)

  4. Omg YES!!  :defeated:  :defeated:  :defeated:

And then she wakes up at the end of the song/video ("fuck!") and realizes that her life is chaotic instead - and then cliffhanger until the next music video!  :deadbanana:

holy shit, she looks over the mess in her dreams like her peaches are ruined and it continues on as you said

and she breaks the forth wall when she curses in her dream or hallucination (that(s too much, in't it? it's too extra to look at the camera)

I was more enchanted with the way the light shone, and the cherry blossom trees dancing in the clip. And with the horses, wouldn't you want to have a stroll with someone side by side, or holding onto someone watching the scenery move all slow?

oh yes a petal storm while she rides or stands outside that would have been epic reminds me of the prada 10 women spring/summer 2013 advertising

    Sounds like a perfume ad.

blue jeans looks like a perfume ad, i still love the video a lot tho  :crossed:

  5. I loved the aesthetic so much, here's a vid from her insta before.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCAyM1VqJv4

You said it perfectly, I could definitely see that

thanks, i haven't seen that video  :O but i'm glad to know lana can ride a horse (ok it's totally unsurprising, still pleases me  :hdu: ) i really would have loved to see her standing on a horse fierce as hell while there's chaos all around her

  6. Do u guys think the Steven Klein shoot for Vmag would've been used for Cherry if it had a vid?

i certainly wouldn't have minded the aesthetic tbh

like having lana as this rich heiress the intro (w music) would be her riding a horse and coming back to the stables and the song would kick in when she wanders around the mansion and the colours get warmer like in freak and there are these weird hallucinations about guns and fires as she's trying to remember her lover. all of that with badass outfits and fierce makeup and hair

+ domme lana aes because why not

  7. I wonder if there's an scrapped scene where she has an accident and it belongs to the end of the bridge where it sounds like a glass breaking or a car accident

holy smokes you are right but there are also the "broom broom" sounds of a motorbike in lfl and the rapid "vroom" in wm (esp at the end) but no actual car or motorbike around during those scenes ...

  8. honestly while the visuals were stunning thinking about bar (and now we also have edits) while watching this, the storyline is still effy :/ tbh i don't like it when mv are literal i prefer when artists subvert the explicit meaning of a video and offer a more innovative footage

but since a lot of material was scraped to fit wm i can't even judge that :/

Has anyone ever thought that maybe Lana's team FORCES her to release these scrapped videos? Think of how much time and money was spent making this video. Her team probably told her "money was spent to make a video for a song you scrapped so bitch you better find another way to make the best of it cuz that's throwing money away." Or maybe that was Lana's thought process in releasing this idk.

well yes of course, the production is expensive af but at that point i'd rather have BAR released now or later, she did include black beauty in the deluxe version of uv even after it was leaked

  9. Ok.

    My first thought was "whut?".

Because it starts great, the scene is filled with emotions and you don't know what gonna happen and then she squats over him like gurl I was NOT ready for that. The house and the city look amazing as well - it could actually be in some near future since it still looks similar to our world but the guildings are different.

But then when the guy sits at his desk and just ignores her... it screames Best American Record to me. It's so obvious that this video shooting was made for the song. Too bad she shared that video on her IG story, otherwise it would've been less obvious (for a little while at least).

But she's finally in power - she's dominant, she leaves him and she's ready to live her life the way she wants to. Maybe that's why they also added Get Free. "I wanna move, out of the black, into the blue" kind of feeling.

But man... that bar scene where he's gonna play live... it screams even more of BAR, even though I thought we would get a combo music video with Groupie Love when I saw the teaser footage.

And finally, as already stated in this thread: "All the roads lead to you" is PERFECT for that tunnel where they meet. However, I wonder why they chose to play this line form Get Free "[...] who never got to fly at night 'cause they were caught up in the dance". Does she imply on herself and this guy in the video for that part? Even though it makes no sense at all?

And then she clearly leaves him.

    The end.

But like... Lana. You look gorgeous. Love your earrings, heels, dress and makeup. And the futuristic city. But this video makes no sense at all since it's so obvious that it was made for BAR and all the mimic scenes are gone.

    Nope. :crossed:

Although I have to say that this might have been one of her videos with the better production, along with Love.

i feel the same, and her being more assertive of her needs or at least looking like she was really redeemed part of the video

  10. this video was so random but it also lead to nowhere, this probably means BAR was never going to be released as a mv because otherwise she would have saved it for later. it had so much potential because i loved the aesthetic of it and she looks gorgeous. I hope it's foreshadowing for a Get Free mv, a proper video with proper treatment

i also kinda feel bad for the guy for appearing on such a bland lana video, don't know why tho

  11. true but I hate that it's true. it was so hard building this follower amount and I already don't have a lot because I'm definitely not super good and I feel so discouraged that I have to start it all over again. I psychologically feel bad for making people unfollow idk even though I know what you say. I hated unfollowing so many ppl already

Thank you, I just wish everyone was thinking like you but I'm pretty sure you're an exception tbh. Whatever I'm going to delete the rest of my stuff because I just fought with my mom regarding my mental health and not even Lana can fill this void

i'm sorry for your fights! you will feel better one day i hope so <3 i'm not on ig but i'm sure people follow you more for how creative and bright you are as a person (altho i follow you on tumblr i think) i understand about the guilt in unfollowing but ultimately everyone starts anew, for what is worth don't feel bad for unfollowing someone: they probably understand, it's not personal and probably people you want to stick around will ... i'll send you my thoughts

  12. I'm taking meds for borderline disorder and it's making me detach myself from things I love too much so I had some kind of crisis and deleted more than 8000 Lana pics I had on my computer and all the videos and I'm currently doing it as well and I should feel good about it but I really don't. I craved detaching myself emotionally from Lana so badly but now that it's happening I just feel fucking sad. It's like burying the moments of my life that made me the happiest but I just don't care and I hate that I don't. And I hate all the edits I make for her but everyone on Instagram follows me because of her and I feel trapped asf

i hope you'll feel better sis, whatever happens

i love your edits, they are amazing and you're very talented and creative but you don't owe your followers shit if you decide to stop and post your original work or even stop it doesn't matter your mental health should be your priority, people are free to follow/unfollow as they wish. hope everything goes well for you xxx

  13. it makes a lot of sense if bar is included or in her mind but i really have to question lana's judgment for filming a whole music video and scrap the song from the album a bit later, at best it would be recycled footage which explains why she would chose white mustang of all the songs she could shoot a video for

i don't know this sherlock stuff before something is released is tiring

  14. I don't actually think a *paradise 2.0* is that far of a reach, I mean, isn't this era supposed to be the opposite to BTD? It would make sense to release the "folky" ep with BAR, Yosemite... I would have a heart attack if she does this.

i'm here for lfl to be the mirror verse of btd, this era certainly deserves a follow up in my regard  :defeated:

  15. i have to confess that yesterday i probably heard Freak on speaker (without headphones) for the first time in my life probably and i never noticed there's a sax (or another brass instrument, i don't know which one) going on during the chorus, twice. I always loved the instrumentals of this damn song so i was shook to discover i missed something. It starts at 1:02/1:13  2:41/2:52 qnd 3:13  :legend: i'll look for a HD instrumental  :icant:

  16. like said before i miss btd's strong visuals with beautiful ambitious music videos but it think that era has been done with kind of, sonically and storytelling wise it would be UV (on a lesser extent) and LFL. LFL feels unfinished and i need some closure on it, i listened to bar (is it a demo?) and i loved it so much i didn't expect that . it just clicked!  so as of now both heroin and bar's instrumentals aren't the strongest but these two are going to be among my faves lana songs?

edit because autocorrect is a b
