  1. One thing I've always wondered:

Lana can release an instrumental album for each album and thirsty fans like me would def buy it. There are so many ways for her to take all my money idk why she isn't doing that currently

yes lana could literally post some of her instrumentals on her vevo instead of audio onlys, plus the lyrics sheet, a week before the mv and fans would try their best to wonder how the lyrics fit the song, it would be hilarious. i always thought with the quality of her instrumentals she could sell a collateral album and get my coin  :crossed:

  2. I just finished The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins and really enjoyed it. The movie is coming out soon and I'm excited.

A guy in my class lent me this book back in spring just 3 weeks before finals when the work slowed down but we had to revise anyway and then flew off to china before he could ask for it  so i still have it and he's still in china and we're not even friends (i didn't even want it i had to study but he gave it to me)   i'm a fast reader but not giving books back makes me anxious so I can't pick it up again and it's unfinished it's killing me

Right now I'm reading what happened by hillary clinton  :creep:  the last book i've read was Über die Weiber by Schopenhauer including a long study on Schoppy's views on women by contemporaries and today's academics, which had me eye rolling at various moments. And poetry from Lamartine that I always keep on my nightstand hence the username  :hooker:

  3. So...what now?

i wasn't ready for this existential question

yo i'm starting to see lana everywhere, i was watching the lean on mv by major lazer for the first time (yeah it got 2 bn views) and the first shot looks like BTD, with the camera starting from the ceiling to a room and focuses on a woman in the middle wearing a flower crown  :rollin: even the lyrics are ... interesting now that i pay attention

it's only been 2 months since the album

  4. i actually didn't know about them but i've seen them live during a festival because my friends were fans and i'm pretty sure i'll be there to wait for their next album, i still have to acquire their discography and discover them appropriately - i had good memories of their concert (or maybe it was just the weed  :creep: )

  5. Sometimes I'm pretty glad Lana does not follow her fans advice .. Every era would be full of cringy kitsch

casting a spell and telling people on social media wasn't a bit kitsch?  :creep:

i stay away from using the word cringe, and if the cringe police was real and effective they wouldn't let lana's discography alive  :biblio:  :creep:  just looking at how her detractors look at her lyrics, and that from every era (but BTD mainly, look at blue jeans which i love, but yeah almost every era) nonetheless i'm glad people could see over that and appreciate stuff for what it is without much unnecessary fuss

  6. there were no boys in Honeymoon

It was all about the fight between Elizabeth and Lana

every song in  Lust for Life references a past song

Coachella the #1 song of 2017 and Burnt Norton both are extremely important, and their meaning cannot be ignored

I can't read lana's mind, i prefer to listen to an album and play my own tricks tbh. So I agree 100% with you because I actually feel lana is addressing her past self and music throughout all the album and tackles different stages of her relationship with art and the music industry ... but I can't help to think it's just my coping mechanism for disliking romance DDD:

I'm SHOOK thank you. Also, that's one of my favorite collections of all time  :defeated: Lana has an actual BUDGET to do these things with the era, so much untapped potential (and beauty. She could work any style)

you look great, no other way to put it. honestly when i found out lana was becoming a cosmic witch it was all i could think of, the pre-fall collection was everything i would have loved to have, i'm such a fashion victim  :hoe:   :defeated:  :defeated:

Valentino-Pre-Fall-2015.pngffe1c190965b3fe93ea0ac211c83a818.jpg Valentino-pre-fall-2015-Lola-Who-fashionthat dress with the gogo boots is everything but ahimè it wasn't meant to be

  7. I went to a vintage clothing store today with a friend and oh my god there was so much inspiration for the L4L era that I feel like Lana just ignored

I found this dress in the early 1970s section and I'd love to see Lana wear something like this in a Get Free music video, raising her arms slowly over her head as she walks into a sunset framed with a rainbow across the sea, with the sky melting from a murky dusk to an expanse of glistening stars

haha but instead u just get me wearing it

you look amazing, and all these clothes are gorgeous even those in the back  :defeated: it slightly reminds me of valentino 2015 the planets/stars collection (which is why i think this era had potential for more, but it's personal)

  8. I agree. There are a lot of songs on Honeymoon where she seems to talk about her relationship with music-- Religion being the most obvious.

I don't know if it's obvious, but it's definitely how I see it when I listen to it, because I definitely understand having music override your life until there's no more true space left for yourself and then enjoy it until your ears bleed. I mean she could be singing about a man for all i know but it's easier for me to connect it to Music.

  9. i love both carmen and freak ... the first is so sad and dark, it's both appropriate and shocking to sing like that about a young girl

freak has a dope instrumental, and the message isn't that different from "come and take a walk on the wild side, let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain" which is yes - cliché, but it's still interesting. If I squint, all of HM could be about her relationship with music, with freak being about her being tempted to go to hollywood, california, let loose and embrace her art/music (it's reaching but my brain does little gymnastics like that  :defeated: )

  10. as a whole i still listen and love the album, there are so many little things that make it amazing. i'm really into the ominous drone-like sounds at the beginning of when the world was at war, and the little robotic chirpings background sounds of 13 beaches  :flutter:  really sets the mood and futuristic tone.

I feel like, Dayglo Reflection, which has lana as a feature but it's also one of my fave songs, could really fit the theme of the album, or like the themes i had in mind

  11. there are many posts here complaining about lana's laziness in general? her voice, her lyrics, her promo? but why are you making out this whole idea that some people consider lana faultless, it comes out of nowhere and it blows some few comments here and there out of proportion ?

at the end of the day she probably calls her decisions and she chooses which direction and advice she takes: who is going to help her to achieve her vision. no one is doubting her agency.  that's a different thing from saying that i don't like this producer or that mixer

Wait I thought the change was "they say only the good died young" moved from the verse to the pre-chorus/chorus

i remember reading about the chorus, so i don't know which part i'm not going to research it rn ... i still don't like the chorus tho

  12.  lana flew all the way to sweden to consult with him and apparently he thought the whole "and i lust for life (x4) keeps us alive (x4)" was pleasant to listen to and should be in the chorus .... which ironically is my least fave part of the song and probably wasn't supposed to be this way. it's too high pitched for my tastes. Not saying the other version is better but it's considered "more touching" i don't remember by whom so that's interesting enough. so chill, it would only be nice if we got to hear it but that's not happening anyway  :hooker: i don't want any actual leak to occur tbh

  13. don't come @me for not wanting lana to be happy but honestly the reason i'm not so fond of the lfl mv is because for two people as macabre, blasé about life but also as intense as Lana & The Weeknd are it was weird to see them so lovey-dovey, sittings cutely next to each other watching the city from above. not saying they should have founded a coven or something but i expected more action.

and the dancing at the beginning was so cute it is actually how always envisioned the Lolita mv to be: a simple choreo in 60s gogo outfits with backup dancers, shots of super 8 with some cinematic quality in between and them spelling the L O V E letters with their hands in an adorable way   :crai:

  14.

    from http://www.konbini.com/fr/entertainment-2/video-lana-del-rey-clip-futuriste-white-mustang/

so this guy found the job via a friend through facebook and it's his biggest gig yet (i'm sorry for him that the video had to be so MEH  :$ wish this random guy the best tho) and she had him listen to a lot of unreleased/unleaked sounds. i'm looking at the internet and the french press seems quite warm towards this video given the circumstances with stuff like "lana del rey - an independent woman" i'm pretty sure journalists reacted positively towards coachella mainly because of the sweet sentiment behind it  :crossed:  hummm
