I feel like the labels don't see it as simple as "release it and get money". There's probably some sort of strategy involved. And yeah I understand that the outcry is from enjoying the music she's created, but if she hasn't seen the music as fitting for her official discography (I don't see why not, if she's willing to put so many strange collabs on pop 2), that's just it. It could very well be that she just doesn't vibe with those songs anymore and would hate to be stuck performing them the same way she does with fancy or i love it or boom clap (even tho BC is a bop but I'm sure it gets super annoying after performing it like 200 times). yeah that all makes more sense than "the effect comes from being wayyy out of tune and that's why charli sucks live". Charli still has to be close to the note for autotune to register it, right? On her don't delete the kisses cover, there were still notes that were off pitch even though they were autotuned. Is it possible to sort of "iron out" vocals and make the tone really smooth? The studio vocals on Focus sound really great and I want to believe that it was because she finessed them but I don't know much about vocal processing. How was the whistling at the end of lucky pulled off?

@@BloomForYou I'm not sure where you got the "she stopped training/doing vocal warmups" bit from, because I've literally never heard of her doing any vocal warmups (I faintly remember her doing a "da da da da" scale but idk I might be imagining things) but ANYWAYS I have an idea that might be relevant to you guys I was watching a vocals video on youtube a few weeks ago and there was a part that said the singer was lowering their larynx to make their voice more stable (aka actually be able to hold the note) because their voice was damaged. Lowering your larynx gives the voice a husky tone, sort of like a yawn but not as extreme. I've noticed that charli's been doing that a little more nowadays. Not sure if it's a stylistic choice but I thought that was worth mentioning.

Ok I know I'm not just going crazy. There's a certain quality to Charli's vocals in this pop 2 era (also present in the bitches remix) that's really unpleasant on the ears. It's like a harsh, thin, piercing, one dimensional sound. Does anyone else hear it this way?

Just because the stans of every popstar do this doesn't make it any less disgusting. I don't keep up with anyone else's twitter so I can't speak on how often it happens to other popstars but it's just sad to me, because Charli's trying to interact with her fans, and they treat her so horribly. All they seem to care about is the music, and not her as a person. A total disregard for her feelings. I guess it's partially Charli's fault but we literally have NO idea what goes on behind the scenes. She tried to tell us XCX3 "wasn't delayed" after complaining for like 2 months straight about label issues and delays. It's clear there's something else going on. A lot of you don't realize how little we actually know about Charli's situation or how labels work. All I know is that there's virtually no way an artist on a major record label (or any label for that matter) would be able to release music on their own accord.
