I JUST FUCKING MET ZELLA DAY AT A ROLLER RINK oh my god her eyes are stunning!! I was standing outside waiting for a friend and I saw her walk past with a couple girls. I thought she looked a bit like Zella Day but I was like "no, that's not zella day I'm just being a crackhead," and as she was walking away I couldn't help but ask, so I was like "Excuse me! Are you famous?" (don't judge my wording, I was nervous, that's just what came out of my mouth). She turned around and smiled and was like "Am I famous??" and said "I mean - are you a singer?" and she sort of nodded and I was like "omg are you Zella day?" Of course she said yes! I was so lost for words and we hugged and I told her how, just the other day I was on her spotify checking for new music and she said it's coming soon!! I think she has the album put together for the most part because she said she wished she had her other car with her so she could blast the upcoming songs! SHE'S COMING UGHH I CAN'T WAIT

Ok so I've listened to 5 In The Morning a handful of times and it's alright. I like pop Charli and the vengeful, icy vibe of this song just isn't my energy. + I still dislike the autotune/piercing vocal fx On another note, could you imagine releasing a song and being excited to release new music and all your fans can fucking say is "ok but release no angel. where's GNO and Taxi. release the exchange songs."??? That must make Charli feel so undervalued by her own fans. I wouldn't even call them fans. Some of you bird brained hoes are no better than Atlantic. She's already been raided for her artistry without compensation and we were all happy to run and download everything, give her a break.

Did it sound like I took it personal? I just responded because I'm one of the people not supporting Charli's current single, and you said we don't like the singles because they're singles. I used the word "personally" so it didn't sound like I was speaking for everyone. That's a fair point though. We should've supported ATAP the same way the barbz support Nicki on everything. Angels take notes! But I feel like our support isn't enough to make much of a difference, ATAP was supposed to be a hit with the GP...

Ok I know this sounds like such a "duh" moment but I honestly think Charli was too "next level" for her own good. If she was just another one of those pop girls who records a collection of other people's demo's and calls it their body of work (album), Atlantic would've had no problem pushing her 3rd album. Also, I think single after single after single is the smartest way to release songs, because it's so easy for an album to get lost in a sea of new music without the artist having MASSIVE momentum aka tons of funding behind them. This way her songs will always be in the "new releases" section

Wow you really thought you spilled tea with this... you even went to look for a gif omg mess Look, no offense but 5ITM, so far, sounds like a generic mess. I'll give it like 3 chances to catch my attention when it's up on Spotify. That's more chances than the GP would give. The point of a single is usually to either grab attention or stir up excitement for the album, and 5ITM doesn't grab my attention or make me excited for the album. I personally felt the same with ATAP and Boys (at the time of their release, they're not so bad now) because the singles were not at all up to par with what she's capable of. Not just because they're singles. Along with 5ITM, they fall extremely short of the kind of bops Charli serves so well.

wdym why did it have to go to kim? Did Charli write it/co-write it??
-
idk I just feel like some people's fetish is being offended
-
literally the only good part of Girls is Charli's "roll it up roll it up, do it one more time" background vocals. The beat is SO ugly and tacky
-
I went on YouTube to watch compilations of Charli's stories and it's honestly hard to hear how much her voice gives out while she screams at parties no wonder Focus On My Love has a range of like 4 notes
-
where can I listen to we don't stop?
-
Can someone post a link to My Heart? Also, is "My Funeral" an actual song? What's the title of the Kim x SOPHIE song?
-
did @@LanaDiamondXCX make a mistake?
-
I was literally shaking while listening to Focus On My Love IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD can someone please send links to "my funeral" and "my heart"?

but that doesn't have much to do with tone inconsistencies, timing issues, and ugly vowels! I feel like autotune is a crutch for her and she's slacking off.

I actually like your comments most of the time, because I notice that you try to relate things to your own experiences (especially with your band, that was a cool post), but it just doesn't seem like a good idea to speculate so heavily or make authoritative statements or try to "crack the code" when we're the outsiders. I think it makes perfect sense that you can't give Atlantic money for songs that haven't been released on a public platform. Of course labels are "all about the money", it's an industry! Each record label is a business! That's not a fault of the music industry, it's just the nature of the beast. I don't like the way the rest of this comment is worded because it makes it seem like Charli has absolutely no agency or creative vision, which she's asserted she does in various interviews. It treats Charli as an inorganic product. A puppet. They're gonna push what's popular. That's just the smart thing to do. That doesn't mean Charli's new trap direction is a result of Atlantic pushing that sound on her, it's just that, unfortunately, trap's influence made it's way into Charli's music. yikes fkajdhf clearly? at all?? It doesn't sound like she lacks confidence, she just isn't being as skillful and precise with her delivery as she usually is. It just sounds sloppy/lazy but yeah I totally agree with everything else

Charli is at 0:30, sings adlibs at 1:30 and 1:49, and sings the bridge at 2:02 She sounds terrible. It feels like a mix of vocal damage, inconsistent tone (which could be a part of vocal damage idk), bad timing, and ugly vocal processing. Basically Pop 2 all over again. I don't like the husky tone in "haaaze" and "ayyy" or the tone of the whole bridge. It sounds like my choir teacher who lost her voice and is still recovering. She's doing a really ugly "Cher" vowel at the end of "she gettin' down with me yeahAUH". And her background echoes of "she gettin' down with me yeah" in the last 3 lines of the bridge aren't timed right. I also feel like the vocal processing on Charli gave her voice an weird thin metallic quality in some parts. Compare Charli's "yeah yeah, yeah yeah" to Rita's "you know that I do". Idk honestly, the whole song is a mess, and it sucks that I can't rely on Charli to serve top notch pop vocals anymore, she's really lost her spark. + if that trap beat is the final version, I officially hate trap more than anything in the world for both infecting pop, and for making it's way into Charli's own music (5 in the morning).

take me back to 2016 when Charli was making ferocious pop bangers and super cute bops and not this ugly trap shit
