it just overall feels like the ultimate "3 strikes you're out" situation-- a lot of us delusional fans gave her a chance with the million release dates, then a chance with downhill lullaby, and then there was so much fanfare behind the don't forget rollout + tonia saying the ALBUM was coming that it felt like something HAD to happen this time. and what happened? a scrapped music video, a pretty mid song, and SHOCKER! sky going back to saying the label is holding her back bla bla bla she wants to do it the right way. she does not sell enough albums or have enough of a following to get the halsey treatment she so desperately wants. i love her, ntmt is one of my favorite albums ever and i see a lot of myself in how she conducts herself/her artistry but she needs to get over herself and sacrifice some things and get her shit together and release a fucking album, or even the most delusional fans (even the freesky people) will stop tuning in. it's been 10 years, if we don't get anything for ntmt anniversary i think we can consider this whole thing over, if not one of the biggest "what-could-have-beens" in pop music history.

what i don't get about the freesky people is...sky herself has said that the record isn't ready. it is almost entirely her fault until she does an interview saying "the record is done, it is mastered, it is up to the label to release it." no label would fund promo for a single for an album that is coming who-knows-when from the world's most unreliable artist.

what i don't get is if it's about her uncompromising vision- why not just do a ton of modeling gigs again??? she's more culturally relevant now than even a couple years ago with the whole indie sleaze thing. she's gorgeous- i'm sure plenty of brands would love for her to model for them and then she can pay out of pocket!! enough with the tomfoolery

i want her to win SO BAD!!! i love ntmt and her as a person when shes in the press, but her idea of herself as this "enigmatic troubled pop star" is ridiculous because there's a difference between being enigmatic/mysterious and being intentionally opaque with people who have your best interests at heart. i don't think the holdup is entirely her fault but i also don't think it's entirely capitol's. she's pissing me off, it's been ten years since ntmt, give us one more album and then everyone will leave you ALONElike girl wtf is LEASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
