Super happy about the USA topping the UK right now

Aw, that is so sweet So can we expect all the songs involving love/romance on her next record to be mostly about Barrie? If so, bummer I really like trying to dig up information on her past boyfriends. If they're all about Barrie, we've got nothing to do but sit here and envy their love.

Considering the song "For K" was on Sirens, an album that was recorded in 2005/2006, and she's only been with Barrie for a year or so, I'd say that's pretty impossible.

Have we ruled out the thought that K could have been a musician? We have no way of knowing.. But it seems like everyone automatically applies lyrics like "play for me at your show" to Barrie because he's in a band. K could have very well been in a band, too.

Agree with this. I get a very strong vibe that K has influenced this song for Lana.

Had to write this, I had to.. I have a Lana confession. I'm scared she is going to stop making music that I like. I'm actually terrified of it. I've been a fan for a long time now, about a year and half, and I've loved almost all her music up to today. Young & Beautiful just isn't my style. If that's what the new record is going to sound like, I'm not going to love it like I love Born to Die. I don't like the way she's described the new album.. The whole "stripped down" thing. I want more music with hip-hop influenced beats and orchestral strings and that damn loon that I love. I want more music like AKA and the upbeat songs in Born to Die. I want more Off to the Races and Diet Mountain Dew. And I have a feeling this next record is going to be nothing but stuff like Paradise Edition. It scares me. It scares me so much. I've been so in love with Lana, and I'm sure I won't fall out of love with the music we already have, but I just want her to keep making music that is interesting and makes me happy. Young & Beautiful doesn't do that for me. That felt good to let out.

I get why people think American is about Barrie. The song says like and American. So she's comparing him to someone from America. However, I've never been 100% convinced that American is about him.

I like the Paradise version of Yayo better than the AKA version. Is that an unpopular opinion? Just think her voice suits the melody much better when it's deeper.

So you think it should definitely be labeled as a song about Barrie? I just thought maybe it could be about one of the other guys because "the way you'd play for me at your show" could apply to multiple men. Also, "when he comes, tell me that you'll let him in" implies that "her man" might be up for debate in God's eyes, suggesting that he's committed sins (I mean, we all have, but you know what I mean). Of course it might just be much easier to say she's singing about Barrie and call it a day hahaha.

I know we've only just got it yesterday, but have any of you tried Lanalyzing Young and Beautiful? I know most of lyrics are not very deep but the part where she mentions God and Heaven may have some significance.

Also in TIWMUG, it says "high heels in her hand". I always thought it said "flyers in her hand" and had this image of a drunk girl passing out flyers for something on the side of the road while Lana just leans against a chain link fence and smokes a cigarette.. It's a beautiful image, I tell you. It really is.

I never ever heard "audio tune lies" in Carmen. I still don't. I always hear something like "party overnight" or "party girl tonight" or "part of her two eyes" or SOMETHING. I don't know. I just hear babbling.
