LDR5 - Pre-Release Thread

i would be here for this as long as it doesn't sound like a mess. i wouldn't mind collabs that aren't like...features. so lust for life would be okay to me if there's nobody else singing on it. -

Lana Del Rey is not Beyonce. That would not go well. -

I want Lana to do something unprecedented and just make a meme her latest album cover. No name, nothing printed on it. Just a meme. -

So will the next 20 pages be filled with people sucking Lana's ass and saying she can do no wrong? because that's what it looks like it's going to be. -

Oh. That's good. We need album info, stat. ------------- Why do people here get so in their feelings about people critiquing what Lana does? She's not your mom, you know. -

Given this lack of news and all this mess surrounding "Love"...I rly doubt we're getting anything this year besides what we've already gotten. People paying $1400 to see Lana Del Rey perform for an hour is a pretty good reason to go back on that. I'd want my money back if I was one of the poor fools who paid to go. She already put zero effort into the setlist she performed. She could at least attempt to look like she wants to be there. Or at least just not perform. This performance was not worth the money people paid for it. -
nope. the people doing a bad job of protecting Lana's material got her song to leak.

I love Lana. AKA, Born To Die, and Ultraviolence are my favorite albums. I'm not expecting her to sell millions of records. I'm also not expecting her to remake Born To Die over and over like some of the more chart-obsessed members are (or Ultraviolence). I'd appreciate it if she put more effort in though. While fans aren't entitled to anything, it's a pretty big "fuck you" to the people who made her rich and famous that she doesn't seem to do anything. you're kidding, right? Lana is lazy as fuck, but she's still talented. -

out of curiosity, do you unironically believe that music is automatically good just because it sells more? -

...not really. Commercial suicide is more like: Barely promoting your album Abandoning your album after it was released (or even beforehand) Not promoting anything Not promoting an album via an actual tour Not performing or barely performing songs from said albums Basically, of the things Lana has done in her career, West Coast was not commercial suicide. -

Why do people brag about having not listened to Best American Record/Architecture? It's not like Lana is gonna show up at your house with a reward... -

I don't think she hates them. It's probably that she's still synonymous with Born To Die and Born To Die-era songs. Please no. Best American Record sounds like a daring title. And Fame...is just boring and cliche. Prediction: They won't release anything for another month. "Anything" including information about the record. Also, I wonder if we (the fans) killed "Love" like some people liked to claim or if Lana herself killed it... -

I want this but not on LDR5. Lana should rerecord the song with A$AP Rocky and have him put it on a mixtape or something. No Nicki at all. Idea: 2 CD deluxe edition with LDR5 on one CD and a completely remastered AKA on the other. -

this you're such an edgy, edgy person. i just can't take how fucking edgy you are. -
There are so many different things I'd want her to do tbh. Unreleased: 1. Yes to Heaven 2. Fine China 3. Wayamaya 4. Forever Angels 5. Never Let Me Go Covers: 1. Inside by Jobriath 2. Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis 3. I Have Forgiven Jesus by Morrissey 4. I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry by Hank Williams 5. MacArthur Park by Donna Summer

I really hope a reworked/more complete version of Fine China is on LDR5.

How though? The only way for a musician/writer to use their potential is via...music and writing. -
I want her to do a disco record tbh. Meet Me In The Pale Moonlight shows she's capable of it, on par with Donna Summer even. I could only imagine a Georgio Moroder/Nile Rodgers-produced album. This is something I actively dream of.
