  1. I took it as just acknowledging the hype can't last... but you're right, there have been other comments about leaving music! (Personally, I intend to listen to LDRAKA:LG, and some of the other surf noir unreleased, for the rest of my life )
  2. For not recognizing Judy Garland :really hopes it's Judy Garland:
  3. You mean like, "Hey, don't bother with your theramin thingies and your what-nots; just use the demos!"
  4. The "I never wanted to lead a normal life" one? Yeah!
  5. I try to arrange my playlists so I get to all her songs, at least every so often. But I keep forgetting to listen to my acoustic playlist and No Kung Fu, dangit! LDRAKA:LG, Surf Noir and Hollywood Sadcore keep calling my name.
  6. Born to Die :ducks and runs for cover: I can't help it. I think we were born to live. I skip this one almost every time I listen to the album. (But that helps me enjoy it more when I do listen to it.)
  7. Same. Even my least-favorite on this album has some interesting moments!
  8. TBH I'm not a fan of nude shoots (but that may be the American tendendy toward prudishness talking). It's Lana's choice, of course. But it's hard for me to see how actually choosing to actually do it is actually empowering. For some reason the GQ cover itself (and some of the other pics) screams "Exploitation!" to me in a way that makes me uncomfortable. I have to admit, though, that this photo is beautiful: And playing with the gender power balance, apparently tipping it back and forth, is so Lana. All making me think and stuff.
  9. Dum Dum It's not a joke how much I like you
  10. I hear Cola. It could be "You send me up" but there's definitely a long "O" in the last part. Listening to the song right now, it sounds like she says it differently the second time: "If I'm ever up to heaven... I guess I'll take you over" But I'm not sure. This song is kicking my butt.
  11. Everyone else in the world seems to think these highlighted lines are "Sweet serial killer" too, but I can't make myself hear it that way. Does anyone else hear "It's a real killer" at these spots? I know I'm not losing my mind, there's only five syllables there... right? Thank you!!! This is the first plausible interpretation I've heard for the spoken portions.
  12. Yes, hence the "BAHAHAHAHA!" (I was debating whether to add a *beat* or pause somewhere, or take the laugh to the next line. Apparently, I should have! Also, I thought "BAHAHA" as laughter was fairly universal, but maybe it's a local thing. )
  13. I guess I must prefer the demo version of National Anthem to the album version. But what I really like best is the Final+Demo version someone posted at LDR.FM!
  14. So I'm thinking the BTD album photoshoot is from Lana's Auburn phase. (You could convince me it's Light Ginger in the sunlight though.)
  15. Okay, the linear-thinking side of me is screaming for definitions. Can we agree on the following colours? (Google images can't be wrong!) = Light Blonde = = Auburn = = Dark Brown = = Black = (It certainly looks black here, anyway) = Warm Blonde =
  16. Can someone make a gif of Lana's from the Put Me In a Movie video? (We had it at The Mermaid Motel)
  17. I'm asking Chloe, by the way, in case that wasn't clear
  18. Agree with both! I also love the Hey Lolita Hey demo far more than the album version.
  19. Yeah, I totally have to read Never Let Me Go now!
  20. Okay, this is freaky. This thread inspired me to go listen to Ceremonials (which I downloaded about a month ago for 99 cents but haven't listened to yet). Then another thread inspired me to go check out the book/film Never Let Me Go. Then the Florence song comes on. I'm just a little weirded out right now.
