The Hunger Games series was amazing, all three of them. A new favorite author of mine is China Mieville; his sci-fi/fantasy heroines are quite interesting. Embassytown is a wild look at how language can function (sounds boring, but it's not -- I love analyzing communication!). Un Lun Dun is a Young Adult book, but grownups can enjoy it too; it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, but funnier and modern. I'm addicted to Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood), and I devoured Deadlocked in two days. I'm in the middle of The Sookie Stackhouse Companion -- worth checking out; the new novella at the beginning was quite good. Another favorite read this summer was Divergent by Veronica Roth. I am next on the waitlist at my library to get the sequel, Insurgent, and I am too excited.
