if it is, you better watch out from impending meltdowns from some select individuals

Okay wait, my Room 93 version doesn't sound bad though? I bought the CD, though, so maybe they included different mixes/masters on the CD than the digital download? My CD version sounds like this:

Wait, what's different about it? (I haven't bought the album yet and ignored Ghost when I listened to the leak)

I've been working on this review since the album leaked. Still not happy with it, but I've tweaked it all I can without losing my mind. I think I got most of my Halsey thoughts out... hopefully lol http://auralfixationreviews.blogspot.com/2015/08/badlands-halsey.html

this is literally the most reasonable thing that has been posted in this thread by someone other than Halsey's LB fans. I think you hit the nail on the head perfectly - she's just the 2015 Lorde-esque bullseye for people who think Lana invented music.
-
I mean, she griped about the song lyrics long ago on Twitter but kept telling people they needed to read further into the song. I'm just saying that it's weird that she's saying it's a satire yet she weaved similar cliches into many other tracks on the record. As I was writing a review of the album, I determined that her lyrics are usually pretty enough to excuse her frequent sprinkles of Hot Topic rebellious terms (much like Lana's when it comes to repeated daddy/moonlight/kiss me hard/dark blue dark blue dark blue/pretty bad girl themes). New Americana is definitely the worst and most over-the-top (besides Strange Love, but don't even get me started on that song's lyrics) in terms of try-hard teen angst, so maybe it really was done on purpose as a satire? Idk tbh

Her saying that New Americana is a satire here is interesting... that kind of throws the song into a light of making fun of people that are like her?

I don't have an appropriately-sized poster frame yet, but yas

I think that's it, but if I ever run across anymore, I'll be sure to post here

the IRLY instrumental has been out for months too

Dan Smith, as in the frontman of Bastille?!

I think Lido might have been an executive producer, but I know that Tim Anderson (who worked with Banks on her album) worked on a few songs with her.

https://twitter.com/halsey/status/635585440884457472 At least she's learned to take a positive attitude about the leak I still need to listen to most of the album. The studio versions of Colors and Roman Holiday are just as great as I was expecting tho

I really want some Halcyon-esque larger-than-life productions with tens of layers per song to dig through. I suppose a dancey record a la Halcyon Days wouldn't be awful by any means, as long as she shakes things up a bit

I LOVE Lights Out as a whole. Haven't dug into the rest of her discography tho

EG3 reportedly due out in November. Tracks to include LMLYD, On my Mind, Move, Don't Panic, Around You, the Greatest, and the Aftertaste. Producers include Jim Eliot, Max Martin, Disclosure, and Joel Little. https://twitter.com/elliegalways/status/635109265552764928 The queen is nearly ready to come back.

79/100 on Metacritic based on 17 critics SLAYING the critics and doubters this time around

Drive is so great! The car tires squealing is really tacky, but other than that, I love it.
-
I get why they chose IRLY, but I agree that not making RAWM the lead single was a horrible mistake
-
well the best one of the era that we've heard so far, smartass
