I had a dream last night that she dropped this thing by surprise, but none of us found out until after way after the fact because it was only available at select Best Buy stores I do remember it being called something along the lines of "Prime" or "Prime Zues" or something strange along those lines with a burgundy cover lol

My parents are in Planet Hollywood for the second time this weekend, sending me picture of the Britney store and displays... while I'm sitting at home across the country doing homework. The envy right now is real.

Finally decided that I'll drive all the way to Urban Outfitters. This record better be just as great as its promo singles. It'd be a plus if the litho is pretty too, but let's not get our hopes up yet -
Same Old Love is okay, but Good For You is still my favorite from the album so far. The album cover slays, too. I'll post later

I have a prior engagement on the night of the Columbus show Ryn, why you gotta play me like this

Finally, the sampler The melody of MTWBT The vocals on Freak -
I'm so excited for the Odyssey to be completed so we can finally start weaving a complete storyline out of the videos. They obviously all have to connect, even if very loosely, but I can't make anything out of the connections just yet. All of the videos have been so beautiful omg And update: I'm still listening to this album on repeat months after release. Still slayed.

I live in the US, and I don't think Capitol gauged how big he would actually be until after the fact with TRXYE. But they stepped up with Wild, thank goodness kind of like your attitude then
-
I found the EP CD in store today! Totally didn't think this would get a widespread physical release considering TRXYE was paid dust here physically.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAS YOU SAW THE LIGHT

Better Love is so good. Why did they have to push this album back so damn far
-
I get what you're saying, but the parts in bold contradict each other. The VMAs was clearly set up for inflated interest and 'buzz,' but by 'buzz,' I just mean widespread exposure of the album. She could have easily pulled a true 'Beyoncé' and dropped it out of nowhere, but instead, she got an entire hosting gig so she could pop herself back into the public eye before releasing the album. It may not be money, but she's being motivated by something, otherwise she wouldn't have done the awards show or agreed to SNL (I totally forgot about SNL - maybe this thing will have more longevity than I first thought). Maybe it's just making a statement, or maybe she's driven to get that message out that you mentioned - that she's involved in her music and legitimately strange, not just Bangerz-esque outrageous. She's using market tactics, but replacing profit with simple exposure in the equation. And I agreed, we are going to see a major label album soon. I was just pondering out loud how it will do commercially after promoting a mixtape as a free album in a crucial 'comeback' time frame.
-
I knew all of that, but I was saying that she wasted her one opportunity to "comeback" with this free album. Just because the label was hands-off doesn't mean there wasn't buzz. She didn't need RCA to create buzz when she did that herself with the VMAs - a very big way to generate interest, but it's going to die off very soon. In a month or two, who will be talking about this free album? She's not doing a televised performance circuit, nor do I think she would release many more (if anymore) music videos for this thing. The Bangerz era was so successful because she made the headlines every week for something strange. She was naked here, twerked here, licked something here, etc. With this, what is she going to do? Go back under the radar and keep working on her major label return? All these headlines are going to die off very soon, especially since she didn't create the massive meltdowns like she did during Twerkgate 2013 while hosting. So, in my opinion, if RCA wants any hope of riding off the VMAs and this album, they need to act faster than six months. Otherwise, execs. and Miley are going to have to generate VMA-level buzz all over again to get her back in the front of the public's mind.
-
I agree. With her relationship with Mike Will Made-It still going strong, the leaked Nightmare demo, and a few pop glimmers in this free album, I don't think her major label return is that far out on the timeline. Look at Tinashe, another RCA artist who released a mixtape not long after her debut, and they're already getting ready to push another album out. One thing that was ill-planned for this thing was the buzz. It was big, but it will die quickly without articles on sales numbers, single pushes, etc. Then RCA will be banging down the door for a pop comeback but she will have already wasted one time to announce a comeback on a mixtape that is sure to turn many people away.

I can't download and listen until this afternoon after classes But from all your comments, I can assume it'll be worth the wait
