This poor girl. Capable of crafting monster tracks like Player for herself and That's My Girl for 5H yet has been reduced to fucking around with a "how to get a natural smokey eye look!" video tutorial in Teen Vogue and some acne medication infomercial.
-
I really need to jump aboard this girl's bandwagon but haven't had the time to sit down and truly appreciate any more than Touch.
-
What a QUEEN. Finding a sexier song than Rock the Boat cannot be done.
-
She's on Close with new straight-ish king of the gays Nick Jonas
-
Awh Still in the Game is cute. Definitely seems closer to material from Kiss.
-
Sis better pull THROUGH for that #1. They were wise to drop the LMLY and Into You videos this week because it's going to be close
-
She doesn't give a single fuck about even trying to lip-sync to the track anymore yet we still adore her. I want to be on her level of unconditional stardom.

My Target is stocking only the alternative cover for the Target exclusive.

The Hotter than Hell cover picture is a lowkey disaster but she's still a queen
-
With the full tracks we've been given plus the previews so far, this is shaping up to be the pop album of the year alongside Dua Lipa's debut.

I've listened to Hotter than Hell well over a dozen times now and I can't stop. So so so so so good.

https://twitter.com/MIAuniverse/status/727212460013408257 She best mean 'last MAJOR LABEL LP' because I need plenty more years of M.I.A. in my life

Okay, wow. IT WAS SO GOOD. The cinematography was particularly top-notch, as expected. From what I've gathered, there are multiple metaphorical meanings weaved through the whole thing. But I interpreted it as a journey between the "two Florences" that she addressed in the Q&A -- Florence, the person, and Florence, the performer -- and the connection between the two personas. Upon the release of HBHBHB, she spoke a lot about being inspired by the turbulent years between Ceremonials and HBHBHB, addressing her feelings in a straightforward fashion, and breaking the barrier between her work and personal lives. Florence in the red pants suit is performer Florence, while the other scenes are literal or metaphorical representations of the chaos around her and in her own mind. If you noticed, all of the scenes in which she is not wearing the red pants suit, she's in vulnerable, exposed, or rough situations. The turbulent relationship, the car accident, the out-of-control house party situation, and the storm are all happenings in her personal life. From my point of view, the car accident is where real life and professional life collide, and she crawls out of the accident with a new perspective. As she wanders from the scene of the crash towards the theater and sings HBHBHB and Mother a cappella, the rest of the music videos (minus Third Eye) are flashbacks from the past few years. (Of course, once again, those flashbacks aren't always literal. I think that some of them -- St. Jude especially -- have been tailored to represent how Florence was feeling on the inside during these times.) Metaphorically speaking, the crash represents the past few years as a whole and the wandering towards the theater can be translated to her process of digesting all of the past's events and turning them into the art that she can share and perform. Just my two cents. Doesn't cover everything in the film, but gives a general feel for what I think it's about.

I need to clear some time and watch The Odyssey sometime today I listened to the Q&A as I did some housework.

Lemonade has clocked me. I didn't even watch the movie yet but the album alone
-
Yes, slay us with Ellie and Lorde
-
I think the demo and the cover.
-
I'm so excited for the Odyssey omg It's going to slay. - The RSD vinyl is going to have the demo of Delilah on it. Someone ripped it and posted it:

A song made for a store's promotional event and it still slays. Queen.
-
A bunch of traders on SoundCloud have the instrumentals and are passing them around. Doubt it'll be long until they leak.

Okay fam, gather around so we can talk about HOW DAMN GREAT MIDNIGHT MACHINES IS. I would have never guessed Up We Go could take such a turn. Follow You Down is absolutely beautiful and reminds me of Shania Twain in her prime for some reason? And the 45 seconds that she takes in Muscle Memory to bring the backing vocals from the bridge to the forefront are glorious. I think Head Cold is the only duller moment on the album, but it's still pretty good.
