Idk about promoting this negativity... ...but I think it’s probably less likely just because of how many platforms and mediums there are consume music now... it’s not like everyone is being funneled through the same TV and radio stations anymore, or even digital music stores or the same streaming services, everyone can just listen to whatever they want, whenever the want now. I’ve kinda picked up on and have felt this for some time now... Everyone kind of just finds and falls into their own lane now, both from an artist’s and listener’s perspective. I guess it’s like as long as people are listening to your music in high numbers, your career is sustainable, and people show up to your shows across the world, you’ve “made it.” Idk... just a result of new technology and competition.

Yeah, I'm not saying that I disagree... I agree with a lot of what you're saying. It's just nice to see Charli get that deserved recognition is all. No reason for her music to not be way more popular than it already is. She gets hyped up so much in the press, as long as I remember ever knowing about her, but it seems like it mostly falls on deaf ears. That's all I'm trying to say.

I think that’s an interesting take for sure... I do think there’s truth in it... yet, you say that, but what about Taylor? Ariana? Katy Perry just had a big comeback single that’s everywhere... Beyoncé could drop a song tomorrow and it would be the biggest thing in the world... same with Rihanna... plenty of “staple” pop girl personalities still out there drawing hype, charting well, and posting big numbers. Idk... I get that Charli is more “alternative” but it’s still freaking pop music. Catchy beats, instrumentals, and hooks for days. And side note Charli is way cooler and has more personality than all of these other pop girls so I give up I guess. Maybe it’s the fact that Charli seems to want to take a more genuine approach to her music and fans rather than the established label route and everything that goes along with it...

Why does Charli struggle to chart? I don’t understand... are people deaf?

The best Pop duo/group Grammy goes to Charli and Troye in my book, but it'll prob go to Senorita or something... which... Charli has a writing credit on that song too. I don't care if I never hear 1999 anywhere, and that Senorita is on the radio every 10 freaking minutes... give the girl her well-deserved Grammy! 1999 is a far better Pop song anyway... Then you have 2099 again, with Troye, that honestly somehow feels like a big moment in Pop on its own, without the "massive pop single" stamp all over it... Reading the comments, you can see how so many people don't seem to "get it" because it's not basic, 4/4 enough for them... like "get woke kids," Charli is influencing the GAME here!! Time to give credit where credit is DUE...

“Tequil’urr on your tongue...” honestly... ICONIC

Heard a familiar tune last night when we walked into our first bar/club... “I GOT THIS FEELIN’ ON THAT SUUUMMER DAY WHEN YOU WERE GONEEE!” I was like “yepppp, it’s about to be a great night.”

I have way too hard of a time using Apple Music to stream music... I have it, use it occasionally... it's nice... but I still prefer to buy albums and then I just listen to them on the library. I guess I'm just super old-school but it's hard to break the habit.

Ughhhhh, XCX World is really going to plague Charli and this fanbase forever huh? I’m most curious about her statements in Click, how she’s “got the hits and is gonna pop off in 2020...” :flutter: lol
-
What I Like is such a fun little track... been a while since I heard it, just popped up on my shuffle...
-
I don't understand how Charli isn't involved with more EDM type stuff... feature on big tracks... that's like, HER SCENE!!!

"I'm so 20/20 with my vision, 20/20 with precision, I'm so legit I'm so 2020, when I wanna go pop, I'll pop, I got them hits..."
-
I don't find it jarring at all. It makes sense... but the transition OUT of it though, needs like 2 bars of rest to make that 2nd verse sound right, as it comes in.

Dream collab is Charli and The 1975...... I’m waitingggg Charles! :defeated: Also, I’d like her to just release a purely solo album.
-
I think that’s just the general thought process. I’m over it, I’m just saying that there’s arguments to both sides. I’m not saying every last dollar goes to Charli either in that case... just being hyperbolic to get the point across. With the leaked songs, you ultimately have something tangible, out in the world, that (at this point) could be out for consumption on all platforms, potentially helping her and her career/bottom line, but it’s not. And if it were so complicated, maybe it doesn’t have to be... Again, I think that’s largely the “release the leaks” argument. That’s all I’m saying...
-
Right and this is true too, so if she’s willing to just scrap it all as she’s publicly stated now, we have to respect that too. There’s two strong sides to the argument, as there often is... my take on it is pretty cut and dry and to the point. I don’t think everyone actually sees it that way. Maybe they just hate to see her scrap her work, maybe they think certain songs could’ve been hits, but regardless of the reasoning, it’s about putting out content. When there’s content, there’s streams and purchases... where there’s no content, there’s none of that. With the leaks that’s the problem, we end up knowing that there’s content when we’re not supposed to. Idk, it’s just messy...
-
I don’t think so... why else would people want an official release of something they already have? They want the artist to benefit.
-
The “release the leak” argument is all about money. The investment was there, there’s a product out there for consumption, but it’s hollow... otherwise people couple just be content with having a leaked track and that’s it, discussion over... But it’s about putting another $15+ dollars in Charli’s pocket that otherwise wouldn’t be there, even though the songs exist... because people care.
-
I really like that she mixes hip-hop/rap into her sound the way she does... it’s not like a total directional shift, she just does it where she wants. Like the way she just breaks into that little rap section in 2099..... WHEW!! :defeated:

“I’m gonna send you to Heaven, tequil’urrr on your tongue...” :flutter:

Imagine if all these issues were legitimately a negative affect on her Billboard performance figures... I honestly feel like they are and that’s a massive shame.
