I think the revenge description she did got toned down with time. It’s not easy, to be enraged all the time, and I guess her caption was a « spur of the moment ». Or the concept pretty much changed and got scrapped (like almost all of her albums do in time) and the revenge part got tossed aside. At least she put on emotional songs on BB, whether they are revenge or not.

WFWF is very good, but I wish it had more of that outstanding outro throughout the song. That being said, it already seems to be fitting in the context of the album (I haven’t listened much to the leaked songs since most of them are LQ).

My biggest « letdown » is… gasp… Wildflower Wildfire. And it’s not a big one lol, but when I saw Mike Dean, I was convinced it would have a bigger prod and that the revenge part would kick in. WFWF is an incredible song with honestly deep lyrics, and the last part is gorgeous, but I hope they let loose on their next project together.

I’m still curious for that one. but Arcadia is, to me, her « revenge song » (along with telling her own story on the rest of the album): the middle fingers, the allusion and production similarities to Video Games, the references to her body could also be a big FU to people criticizing her weight recently, the part about being torn down… it’s a « calm revenge » though and a tad more provocative song / album could be what we thought RCS would be .

Kinda ironic that an album that contains so many leaked songs hasn’t leaked already Yep, it’s her revenge for sure.

I really adore Bang Bang, and no one ever did a better job than Nancy with this one. But it’s Lana and maybe she’d be able to top it. Who knows?

I hope it’s called Pacific Blue and not AS&C (don’t think the initial concept stayed the same).

Not sure how I feel about listening to a BB leak from a possible vinyl rip (even though it seems it’s fake). Norman was excruciating to listen to from the cassette rip, Chemtrails was a dream. Maybe I am strong by enough to resist the urge this time around

If the album doesn’t leak before the 22 or if I resist the temptation if it does (yeah, right), I should be listening to it very early morning, while walking my dog. unless my three CDS get shipped early and I can listen to them when I get home that night. otherwise: whenever it leaks and I can listen to it

I don’t think it was « ahead of its time » but it sure was an iconic trendsetter: another way of viewing feminism, in being able to tell your story and how you are feeling, no matter how unpopular this might be with the times. I get the criticism she got with this album because it sure wasn’t what we were expecting from a woman to write. But after a few records, you get that BTD was a chapter in her life, when she was 20. So, no, you can’t expect her to be in full « feminist mode » (who can honestly say that their relationships in their 20s were all healthy? It comes with a better understanding of who you are as you get older, and nobody is there at 20), and nobody was getting how hyperbolic or cynical many lyrics are on BTD and UV (like on National Anthem and Money Power Glory). That being said, that critic was way too harsh. The reviews score of BTD is fair and should have been that from the start.

I don’t mind piano ballads at all, if the voice is good. I read on Twitter that the song was good and that 30 would be more in the vein of 19 : less vocal pirouettes and deeper lyrics (which I’m fine with: maybe she won’t break her vocal cords again on tour this time around).
