Universal Canada sending the variant CDs on Nov 12… plus vinyls on Oct 29… Yep, her numbers for week 1 will be really fucked this time around.

BB is the era where she keeps on giving what I want lol: - posting on her HM account; - Nectar and Thunder making the cut; Love her.

There are a lot of melodies in it. Since it shifts so much, I’d say « alternative » is the best way to describe it. But you’ll see when you hear it, how hard it is to describe it. It clicked for me on the second listen. I’m glad she put that complex song on the album.

I sure hope we get to hear the Beautiful string mix on steaming. I can’t get my hands on it

To me, it wasn’t what I had expected it would be (it’s not a « summer bop » or an extension of the interlude). It’s an intricate song, with many shifts. With each listen, you discover new things. It’s a piece of art. The « closest » track to it is Text Book, in terms of grower.

If you look at Ben and Ed’s represented artists, they all are very diverse in terms of popularity and each of those artists is pursuing the career they choose to pursue. Is Dua big and very promoted? Yes, but she wanted to. All of their clients run the show, and I’m pretty sure that one of the first questions they asked each and everyone of them is : « How far do you wanna go? How big do you wanna be? » and they went with it. Lana wants to be a recording artist, she went along the « big promo game » in her BTD début and she feels it backfired, so she went with the promo she wants / feels safe. It sure adds a part of mystery to her act while not being as popular as Dua.

I’d say a sweet revenge? Maybe like when she said, in MAC, you took my sadness out of context? There are references to what people criticized her for, for sure. Sonically, maybe not as much. I’d say if you thought that she answered to her detractors on Arcadia, then you will find she adds a bit more to her revenge on BB. If you don’t think so, this aspect might leave you high and dry.

Many feel it’s better, yeah. to me, Chemtrails was very good but a bit incomplete (add one or two sexy songs à la TJF and it’s a complete album), and I didn’t get that feeling with BB. There is a lot to go back to.

Didn’t BoZ say that there never was a complete MV for BB? That what she had filmed was for promo only and what we saw is probably all that there is? I agree with you that this album needs another MV. Beautiful has the potential to be a single and a MV would be lovely 🥰

I don’t believe it. By the way, why did Universal give the green light for CD sales? The only logic I see is: « Well, her stuff always leaks, better open the gates to legal copies. Besides, her vinyls won’t probably count for her first week, so her numbers are all over the place anyways »

If You Lie Down With Me is an argument in itself why she needs to work with Zach et al again! BBS is so complex, I love it. Thunder is the greatest rework of a leaked song from hers And Dealer needs no introduction

It’s my current fave and obsession right now. Although the four songs, from Black Bathing Suit to Violets for Roses, are all gorgeous.

I’ve been lucky enough to have downloaded a shitty quality version of LL when it leaked and I had never clicked with it. So, to be able to discover it with the rest of BB, it fits better and I get why so many love it. It’s still not my fave because it’s very specific, but I love the vocals (I thought it was a duet with someone else) and the wawawawa at the end (by the way, LL reminds me a lot of Dance Till We Die)
