I get that she does things her own way. I love the songs she gave us. But. We have now reached the point where she needs to do something. We are about to rest the 6-month mark of the pre-release: it’s turning out to be a new world record.

Therefore the «July 21 fam» tweet. But with this era, she did something really new: she use to do records for herself mostly, now she is releasing it only to herself

It’s a bit depressing to see that many artists who dropped a first single from their new album around the time she dropped MAC and VB (or later) are actually releasing their record very soon, while we are still in limbos. The waiting game is getting thin.

Nobody knows. The one with Jesse, we know nothing of (it’s peobably for his album). The one with MGK was for his album as well, but he scrapped the whole thing to start over. I wonder if it includes the Lana collab also.

As long as the music is still amazing, I will stan her. She is the only singer that has albums telling some parts of my own story at the moment she releases them. Her voice hypnotizes me. The videos, promo, album covers, interviews are secondary to me, to be honest. Music is what makes me fall in love with her and what sticks with me. Sure, a great video is nice to look at and it can solidify my love for a song, but I can live without. I admit that the guessing game with NFR is tiring and I'd love some confirmation at this point, but I know i will listen to this album endlessly.

Yeah, sorry for coming off so strong lol: I was in a hurry and only wanted to share that I wouldn't be surprised if all the rock songs / psychedelic ones were the guitar ones. So I'd be really surprised if HIaB turned out to be a psychedelic fest some are expecting.

A guitar one! All the songs from NFR either have their melody from piano or guitars: the rest is just production added. Wouldn’t be surprised if the « more rock influenced songs » from NFR had zéro piano.

They would have to transition super well with the rest if she included them. Which I don’t see at the moment.

kalsey Musgraves and Brandi Carlisle’s wins at the recent Grammies proved that there is a growing interest for country / folkish /Americana right now. An EP from Lana would be perfect: not a whole era, but just something in that vein.

Of course she does. The same way she références Leonard Cohen (I’m Your Man) on MAC. Take off « decent music video » and your expectations will be met at some point.

I wouldn't mind a summer album... just not NFR. The introspective feeling of it, from what we heard so far, isn't «summer material». LFL had that summer feeling, UV also (a dark summer, but summer still), even HM (late summer, early fall). But NFR? it doesn't scream summer at all. This is why an end of winter-early spring release is more plausible, though she has yet to confirm a release date.

Yep, we’re not a patient bunch. I wasn’t watching her every move during the UV era and thought was a good one. Same with HM. LFL seemed super loonnnngggg... yet NFR is longer. We’re never happy, it seems.

Always a possibility with Lana. But looking back in the dates, it was the beginning of her work with Jack: at that point, they weren’t sure if it would be for a song or a whole album.
