  1. So, with the new Cat Power collab, it seems that 2018 is the year Lana is only doing stuff with friends and such
  2. Nobody knows. I bet her management told her to be real quiet this time, to not tease so much. A single in August? Or September? Or???? In spring, I was sure that by now, we would have something already from LDR6, but it ain't the case. I am curious for things to come, but I must say that I have been relistening a lot to LFL lately and I got back the feelings I had when I first discovered it. It really is a summery record, like she said last year.
  3. Lol LFL hasn’t aged well?!? It is not a year old yet! Honestly, the “political songs” on LFL are more peace-oriented ones rather than political ones, I think. GBA could have been on any of her albums ; WTWWAW is a beautiful hopeful song in times of despair (whether these despairs are personal or worldwide - America could be a symbol of just happiness, and you wonder if you still can be happy). Coachella is the most precise one when it comes to the times we live in, though that song is not super descriptive either when it comes to politics. Change is the song that embodies LFL the most: something is coming, in her, in the world, something is happening. What exactly? Who knows. LFL is that album in her career expressing when things are shifting. Change’s minimal production makes easy to want to skip it, but when you let it sink in, you can’t help but love it.
  4. Not LDR6 related directly, but Maleficent 2 now has an official release date, as of May 2020. I wonder if Lana’s Disney song is for that movie or Dumbo or ???
  5. mtv.com has nothing on their website stating so (at least, it was the case this morning). Lana del Rey Addiction stated the collab was a sure thing on FB yesterday, so did another reach fan page. But I am afraid it will be another bullshit fake news, like the Consequence of Sound that were supposedly confirming the collab to be out in June., or something. It would be more plausible for the collab to be on Marina's new album I believe, but nothing is confirmed yet.
  6. Like I am a singer in a shady and smokey lounge, singing her despair. 13 beaches...
  7. Just saw the same thing on Lana Addiction, on FB. Don't know how much truth there is to it, honestly. MTV.com has nothing confirming this. But it makes «much sense» to have a Lana-Marina-possible-Jack-Antonoff-produced track on Marina's album, honestly. I am not against that collab, and I trust Lana on her collabs (they feel «organic» despite my initial skepticism), but the Jack Antonoff production, I don't know how it would fit on a Lana album. Just like a Mark Ronson production would have felt out of place on HM.
  8. This Is What Makes Us Girl summarizes perfectly how women act when they want a boyfriend :We don'T stick together cause we put love first. I just love to quote that one when I want to talk about love and women's behavior in relationships, because it is so honestly brutal and representative of what I have seen so far. So I feel very smart ass when I hear that one (Bonus: the men's counterpart was, to me, written by Nietzsche: There is a child in every man and he loves to play with most dangerous toy: women. So, yeah, Lana is my philosopher lol). next: MONEY POWER GLORY!
  9. Who knows? Early reports of LDR6 said that the new album would be made of new songs and scrapped and unleaked ones from previous records. But who knows if she changed her mind since then. If not for LDR6, maybe someday, in a special collection... though I wish it will be with LDR6.
  10. I know the feeling! But I must say that listening to LFl l from cover to cover, in the summer, makes me realize how much I love this album. So many songs have much more of an impact on a hot summer day. 13 Beaches, Get Free, Groupie Love, Heroin (what a perfect song for an evening of heat wave): they all are so incredible. Even the more toned-down ones (Change, or White Mustang) are welcomed between two heavier-production songs
  11. Interesting. I always assumed that it would be connected to LFL, but I never thought about the «time factor» between the two releases, and how it could change the sound of it.
  12. With each record, she changed direction and took a risk, while at the same time staying true to her universe and themes: - BTD and Paradise were orchestral and urban / hip hop for the beats; - UV was edgy alt rock; - HM was classical orchestral, a bit jazzy with a touch of soft trap ; - LFL was trap, had a stellar feeling to a couple of songs, offered new themes and collabs, and flirted with a bit of acoustic music. I expect LDR6 to give us new sounds as well on a couple of tracks.
  13. I wasn't stanning Lana that intensely in the months before HM ( I wasn't reading everything about her and wasn't a member here), so maybe I am completely wrong about what I will say. But I think nothing leaked from HM because it was very close to UV (15 months), and lana was keeping very quiet at that time with the press and all (we only knew that it would be a «jazz» album, and she talked about the title MTWBT, but I think that's it). I believe many stans were still very hyped about UV that we were not overly obsessed with HM yet, especially since she released three other songs between the two (Big Eyes, I Can Fly and Wait for Life). And let's not forget about her «fast-release» marketing strategy: no press interviews, the single in August, the video a week later, three promo singles and the album a month and a half after the lead single. She was feeding us all the time, so maybe we were not in so much of a rush to have things leaked at that moment.
  14. I think LFL will be better understood with LDR6. It will probably be the «sequel» to LFL, though in a different tone ( Get Free is the perfect cliffhanger song: what happens in her life afterwards that «intense» era that was LFL?). And if LDR6 isn't LFL's sequel, let's keep in mind that that record gave us perfect Lana songs as well: Love, Cherry, 13 Beaches, Heroin, Get Free. (I could add a couple more of perfect Lana songs to that record, like Groupie Love, Change, Tomorrow Never Came, but I know that those aren't unanimously loved lol)
  15. I agree. Life is Beautiful and Black Beauty talk about the same theme (to have a friend / lover that is depressed and all). She discarded LIB because she thought the song was too specific, before selling it to Liongate. If we ever get the chance to hear that one at some point, I wonder how it would compare to B.B.
  16. Black Beauty was rumoured to be the name of the album as well, before its demo leaked . Lana loses interest in her songs when they leak (everybody heard them, why bother?); i am not sure who decided to complete Black Beauty, if it was her or her record company or someone else. It would have been a crime to not have that masterpiece finished.
  17. An artist that surprise drops an album is one that needs no promo whatsoever and is really big, like Beyoncé. I am not sure Lana is that big... Sheryl Crow did and interview this week with Entertainment Weekly and she came to the conclusion that her new album with be her last, and that she will drop singles instead in the future. She said that the music industry is changing and that fans want new music to be out very quickly. I wonder what would happen if Lana went along that new way of doing things, knowing that she likes to plan records that tell a story... Maybe she could tell « shorter stories » in the form of five-song EPs? 18. You're so right! let's keep in mind guys that she is always writing and loves recording. It's a hell of a plus for us. For a girl who is that much involved in each step of the creation a record, we should be feeling lucky. Pretty much only singers that sing the crap of other writers or musicians and have a big-ass production team can come up with a new album each year. I am as impatient to hear what's next, but we must be patient let her do her own stuff without interfering. LFL's «messiness» was due in part by the leaks and our impatience.
  19. I know! The August 10 show is the last of the LA to The Moon Tour... That should conclude the LFL era. I don't think she will release anything before that or be super active on social media.
  20. Quite frankly, I am not sure how to feel about Lana doing a Bond theme... I mean, it would be an accomplishment for sure and it would be a good song I guess, especially since she has flirted in the past with the whole genre on songs like 24 or SoC. But if she ever does it at some point, I hope it will be a «Skyfall»-type of event: the perfect song to a good Bond movie. But the whole Bond franchise is getting dated AF. Spectre was ok at best; and the Sam Smith song is just so meh. Lana's 24 was ten times better than that, but it would not have fitted Spectre.
  21. ok, THIS!!! Bravo, your observations are just right on target! And it explains a lot, actually.
  22. True, her fans are not the most patient kind lol As I said before, the problem with Lana is that she talks too much too early. It was February when she first spoke of Bartender and Sylvia, and March when she teased HIaB. I don't mind the "silent treatment" at all. She has no obligation whatsoever to report her every move all the time. But when she talks about songs, teases one of them, I must admit that I expect something happening sooner. She can take all the time she wants to deliver a solid album though (which she constanty did since the beginning of her career). I will say this again when she drops a single and when we will anguish over the whole record: if I look at what other artists do, music industry seems to be going for a promo of an upcoming album that drags on for at least 4 or 5 months (Troye Sivan, Years and Years, Ariana and Nicki Minaj are all releasing albums in July and August and the leadd single was released months before) with 4-5 singles getting released over that period.
  23. kinda like being teased with a Christmas present six months in advance lol
  24. honeymouns on Insta. He released the MPG and FMWUTTY snippets and another one in his stories (Sad Girl). Don't know about the SOC snippet though.
  25. Yes we are. I plead guilty. Maybe it has something with fact that she mentioned last year that she could release BAR and Yosemite as singles... I don't know.
