I agree. And I believe we have all been a bit too jumpy and harsh-judging the «sing it for my babies on the tourlyfe» line a bit too soon. It was, after all, a 25-second snippet, not the whole damn song. And since Lana is a storyteller, her songs tend to need a bit of growing on you in order to appreciate them fully. I remember that many snippets from LFL and UV sounded not like much at first listen, but in the context of the song and album, they made sense.

Sorry, I might be wrong...I know Honeymouns posted the snippet of American on Insta from the Honeymoon hotline and someone posted a story on Insta saying it cost 1$. I don'T remember if it's him or someone else, and I didn't capture the story. But I know for sure someone mentioned it cost 1$ per call.

One of my wildest dreams would be to spend 48 hours in the studio with Lana on recording days, to see and hear how a song evolves and just hear pure magic happen before my ears. .
-
Honeymouns posted Something on his story today: the American snippet and he said that he was charged 1$ for it.
-
I think you are charged 1$ per call though.

Were we always able to leave voicemails on the Honeymoon hotline? Or is it something new?

secretely hoping that June is the month Lana is gonna get out of her «slumber»....

Once Upon a Dream was beautifully haunting, but an album full of songs in that mood? Please someone give me a prescription for happy pills after that. I love « dark Lana », but UV was genius in the way that « lighter songs » were placed just before its gloomy middle part (Brooklyn Baby, West Coast)

It's not the first time I hear of Soft Pink Ice Cream, to be honest... I don't know what to make of this, honestly. Could be legit, maybe not so much. And anyways, since when does a song recorded by Lana is sure to be included on an album? I mean, maybe Pink Soft Ice Cream is one of those scrapped songs that truly exist. A record making is something very «organic» and it changes all the time, thus the reason why our girl doesn't give much info while recording it, so she has the freedom to say: «Ok, it's good song, but it doesn't fit the storytelling anymore, so I'll put it aside». And I bet she will keep extra quiet, in order to avoid another «Yosemite-gate» this time around.

I hope we get to hear that one at some point.

Nope, Nothing official. Silent Lana is a recording Lana usually. She cut her hair, and was seen with a man in LA (imagine how people are going wild, she is with a man in public!!!! She must be in luv!! Or just hanging with a man). But we here, on LB, made a big fuss of Lana changing her bio on Insta (scrapping her singer title) and disabling her comments section on her social medias. That sums it up. Now we are all going crazy imagining the album has changed tone and that she hates her life and us (which was not confirmed in any way). Not even a fake news regarding the next single has surfaced this week. Oh, I almost forgot: Lana will be «featured» in the new Elvis documentary that will be in theaters on June 22. Rumor has it that a snippet of her Elvis song is playing in the background.

interesting! If we ever hear the Sylvia song, it will be even more meaningful.

I have been thinking lately that maybe we have seen a bit too much in her changing her caption. Maybe it is because she doesn't consider herself just a singer? In the past, she often said she considered herself a writer first. She also said, last year, that maybe in the future she would be a Producer, since there are so few women doing that. Plus isn't she writing a Broadway musical with Rick? Maybe she won't sing any of those songs, for what we know...

I I am one of the few that loved every song on LFL. I have a weird relationship with Lana's records: They come out at the exact moment I need them, expressing exactly what I am going through at the moment. LFL did exactly that. 2016 was just plain awful and when Love came out, I was ready to be happy. LFL (the single) was a cool love song, still positive. Then the pre-release period dragged on, and I was craving for new music, while still feeling not so happy or, at least, not as much as I intended to be. July came, the album is finally out. I hear Cherry, 13 Beaches, Heroin, Tomorrow Never Came and all the sadder songs... and thought that it was what I was feeling. Get free has been my anthem for the last part of 2017. So, to answer your question, everybody feels LFL is messy... But the quest for happiness is messy as well. Remember when Lana posted officially the hadwritten track listing on Insta, she had written Lost For Life? underneath the official title. That sums it up. I have been through the emotions depicted on that record in 2017, and its diversity reflected what I was feeling. On LFL, Lana also reflects on her past, explaining the "simpler" lyrics of certain songs (like LFL or White Mustang), as if she was writing from the perspective of a younger self. And I will say it again, i think that each one of the collabs adds a nice touch, an additional layer to some songs that would have been a bit too simple without them. And to be a complete bitch, I recall a time, pre-LFL, when most of the comments here about HM were that it was a snooze fest, too much of the same thing, and so on. Well, Lana did give us a very diverse album with LFL, didn't she? I love that this album is a more diversified one in her discography.

Lana to be featured in Elvis Documentary - The King

If the Elvis song plays at some point during the documentary (which would make sense, by the tone of the trailer), it would be the reason why the song got registered lately. -

I'd love the "Elvis" song to be officially released... Or a cover. But I keep my expectations low on that one. Her 2018 "side projects" have been a bit disapointing this far... I suspect a short interview or Something, maybe a little snippet of song playing during that chat (The Tropico images or Something like that). we'll see. -
One thing's for sure: she always promotes songs she believes in, that she feels at the moment. I believe we had a "good chance" of having the songs you mentioned at the end of her tour: She was happy, peaceful, and all those songs fit that patern (even LIB, when we think of it). But lately, she seems in a less peaceful mindset (people were harsh on her lately)... I hope that she gets back to that state of mind: the songs cut from previous records seem so awesome.
-
Would be cool if the "Elvis" song got released... It is one of her most beautiful early songs. But i must say that my expectations are low on that one.

I love BAR and the demo was really good. Maybe it will be another «Black Beauty», that will have a finished production and be included on LDR6?
-
The ones I prefer the most are the ones that were cut from her last records or a couple that sound like Lana. I thought I was the only one that thought so. Some of her earlier work sounds cute, but not as meaningful or polished as her newer stuff.
-
I get why some might be annoyed that the Cherry video got scrapped. It is a great song that should have been a single with airplay and all. But I prefer when she concentrates on creating new music. Honestly, I don't care that much for her videos since UV. To me, the ones that really mattered were the ones that she did for BTD and Paradise. Sure, the UV, HM and LFL videos were all beautiful and all, but they were not as emblematic as the ones before that. Plus her early videos helped cement her iconography and imagery. Nowadays, her videos are more a mean to promote the visuals of the era rather than to establish her as an icon. It's not the first time that some of her songs did not get the videos she talked about earlier on. Lana has a long history of not realizing how long a good music video takes lol. I am bit more frustrated when she teases songs that never see the light of day, at least in my earbuds lol.

Maybe her erasing stuff has something to do with the TMZ story where she was portrayed as an ungrateful bitch to her fans (which was so not true)? Some «fans» have not been tender towards her after that... I know I would have been so frustrated by those when all she does all the time is for fans. I think her erasing stuff and enabling the comments sections on her social media has more to do with the fact that she wishes to put aside negativity and comments, an attempt to shield away from the storm, in order to find back what her inner voice is saying, what the shape of things to come will look like... But I don't know. Maybe she was just pissed and will take a break form all this sh*t.
-
as for her future tours... My fave albums from her (UV and HM) are hardly the ones that could be appropriate for the big arena settings she has done lately. I dream of the day when she is a little less popular maybe, and decides to do UV from cover to cover, on a smaller scene, for «one night only». Or a full orchestral venue of HM in a theater. Or just a small acoustic show of her songs in an intimate and smaller place (including or not the expected folk songs of LDR6, if this is still the direction she wants LDR6 to take).
-
A more stripped-down production album could showcase her voice more and expose more «raw» emotion (many have stated that LFL lacked on that matter; maybe the emotion got a bit more «buffed» by LFL's heavier production and layers). Whether it would be a folk album or something else. TNC, BAR, You Must Love Me, Change: all of these could be a good direction to dive into for the next album. HIaB seemed in that vein as well. But if she decides to completely change direction, to go grunge or whatever, I will be there to listen and enjoy. She is one of the few female singers that can dive into different genres from album to album. I love how each one of her last four records and EP sounded different while still feeling familiar at the same time.
